Welcome to your first evening of release and rest.
Your touch yoga sleep journey.
Begin by settling in to a quiet and comfortable position.
Dim or turn off the lights,
Allowing your body to just sink into stillness.
Gently closing down your eyes.
It feels so good to just close the eyes down.
Letting go of the day and to just be.
Take a slow moment to arrive in this space.
There is nothing you need to change,
Nothing to solve,
Nothing to figure out.
Just simply notice that you are here.
You may become aware of thoughts moving through the mind.
Let them come and go like distant sounds.
No need to follow them,
Just notice.
Now gently begin to become aware of the body.
The weight of it.
Where the body makes contact beneath you.
The subtle movement of your breath.
Where do you feel the breath the most?
Maybe the chest,
The belly.
Just noticing without needing anything to be different.
Now from this gentle state of witnessing,
Very slowly begin to rub your hands together.
Softly,
Unhurried.
Creating a gentle warmth between your palms.
And when you are ready,
Place one hand on your lower belly.
Letting it gently rest there.
And with your other hand,
Just lightly stroke the back of the resting hand.
Feather like.
Soothing.
Let the touch be simple and comforting.
Feel the warmth.
The texture of your skin.
The quiet rhythm of your breath beneath your hand.
Just continue for a few moments.
Softly stroking.
Simply feeling.
Now begin to rest over your lower belly.
One hand on top of the other.
Just feel the natural rise as you breathe in.
And the soft fall as you breathe out.
Nothing to control.
Nothing to deepen.
Just the body breathing by itself.
Maybe now,
Allow your arms to relax by your sides.
Or wherever they feel most at ease.
Notice the weight of your hands.
Your fingers softening.
Your palms warm and relaxed.
And with every exhale,
The body settles a little more.
You may begin to feel a gentle heaviness.
As if the body is sinking slightly into the surface beneath you.
Just let it be.
There is nowhere else you need to be.
As you rest here.
Simply breathing.
Simply feeling.
Or you may just simply rest.
Rest itself is restoring you.
Allowing the quiet to gently wrap around you.
Like a soft,
Cosy,
Comforting.
And if sleep comes,
Let it come naturally.
But for now,
Maybe gently drifting.
