
Yoga Nidra For Trust
This 35-minute Yoga Nidra guidance is meant to take you into a deep state of rest, maybe even Yogic Sleep. It's meant to support cultivating a state of trust within yourself and therefore trust in life and the universe. It includes setting an intention, a body scan, and breath awareness. I hope that you experience deep relaxation, one of the side effects of a Yoga Nidra practice.

Namaste.
This is Ali,
And this Yoganidra guidance is meant to take you into a deep state of rest and help you to cultivate trust within yourself.
Take the next few moments to create a sacred space just for you,
Removing distractions and getting your body completely comfortable with support around you,
Comfortable props,
Blankets,
Pillow.
You might even block out any light with an eye covering,
Allowing yourself to be completely held and nurtured by this space and time that you have created for yourself.
And as you begin to settle down,
Might you first welcome a sense of the ground beneath you,
The cozy support around you,
And as you feel into that density and support,
You might welcome any sense of trust that you have in the earth to hold you,
Sensing into that stability and density,
That unwavering support of the ground,
And that you can trust in its ability to hold you.
And just taking a deep breath into your breath into that sense of trust that you have for the support of the ground,
In through the nose,
Out through the mouth,
Relaxing deeper into that support beneath you.
Let's do that again,
In,
Breathing in a sense of trust and letting go,
Falling back into that support.
One more time.
The earth is always there to support you.
It is safe for you to let go,
Complete surrender into the trust that you have for this strong and sturdy ground beneath your body,
Beneath your body,
Letting your breath come back into a natural,
Peaceful rhythm,
Settling into this refuge of your practice and of your breath.
Easy,
Peaceful rhythm,
In and out.
Allow yourself to begin to experience the sounds,
Sounds around you,
Within your environment,
And sounds of this recording,
The rainforest of Costa Rica.
Gentle water,
Washing through,
Nourishing the life of the jungle.
Allow the soothing sounds to continue to untangle your nervous system even more.
And you might once again welcome a sense of trust that you might have in the element of water to nourish you and your body.
Trusting in the water's ability to nurture and hydrate all of life and sensing the water within your own body as you settle down.

Breathing sensations of the inhale and the exhale,
Letting go of the jaw,
Of the tongue,
Of the eye,
Trusting in the body's innate ability to go into deep relaxation now,
Trusting your body to know exactly what it needs in your practice today.
There is a subconscious intelligence that knows exactly what's needed here today.
Allowing any natural urges of the body to move,
Reposition,
Or fall into deep,
Deep sleep.
Your body knows exactly what it needs.
You can trust in the intelligence of your body here.
Begin to encourage your presence to drop down into your heart space,
Sensing into the wisdom of your heart center now,
Feeling the breath at the heart,
Feeling the sacred drum,
The rhythm of your heartbeat,
And begin to welcome your sankalpa to be here now.
If you don't have a particular intention that you are working with,
Please trust that your heart knows exactly what it needs,
And allow this intention to arise not from the analytical mind,
But from the wisdom that resides here in the center of your chest.
And you might welcome the intention,
I trust myself to know exactly what I need,
Or I trust myself to know the next best action,
Or the more I trust in myself,
The more I can trust in the universe.
Welcoming your sankalpa wholeheartedly three times,
Imagine you could whisper from your heart,
And now allow yourself to go deep into the body as you rotate attention throughout the physical body now.
Could you bring all of your attention to the mind's eye center?
Try to imagine a luminous shining star here in the center of the mind's eye,
And now the center of the throat,
The shimmering star,
The base of the throat,
The center of the heart,
The brilliant luminous shining star of the heart,
The right shoulder,
The elbow,
The wrist,
The center of the palm,
Base of the thumb,
Tip of the thumb,
Tip of the second finger,
The third finger,
The fourth,
And the small finger,
And back to the luminous shining heart,
The left shoulder,
Elbow,
Wrist,
Center of the palm,
Base of the thumb,
Tip of the thumb,
Tip of the second finger,
Third finger,
Fourth finger,
And the small finger,
The center of the heart,
The center of the ribcage,
The navel center,
The low belly,
The right hip,
The knee,
Ankle,
Center of the foot,
The tip of the big toe,
Second toe,
Third,
Fourth,
Small toe,
Back to the center of the low belly,
The left hip,
Knee,
Ankle,
Center of the foot,
The tip of the big toe,
Second toe,
Third,
Fourth,
The small toe.
Could you sense all of the toes,
Left and right,
Simultaneously,
And imagining two shining stars in the center of the soles of your feet,
Tiny points of light in the center of the soles of your feet.
On the next inhale,
Imagine breathing up from these microscopic stars through your body,
Towards the crown of your head,
Another shining,
Brilliant star at the crown,
Exhaling back down towards the soles of the feet,
Inhaling,
A gentle awareness rises up towards the crown,
Exhale,
Awareness cascading back down towards the soles of the feet,
Ever so gently,
Awareness floating up the body on the inhalation,
And flowing back down the body on the exhalation,
Tiny points of light on the soles of the feet and the center of the crown,
Just imagining,
Feeling the inhale,
Feeling the exhale,
Feeling the inhale,
Feeling the exhale,
Imagine directing the flow of breath up the body on the inhalation and back down the body on the exhale,
Letting this go,
Resting back now into pure presence,
The pure presence of this moment,
Make a trust fall into the medicine of the presence that's already here,
That's already inviting you to let go,
To let go of all of the thoughts and plans momentarily,
Suspending into the abyss of deep,
Deep rest,
And merging with the intelligence of life,
Becoming receptive to the intelligence of life that flows through your body,
That pulses through your cells,
That infuses every plant,
Every animal,
Every mineral,
Every element,
Every solar system,
Every galaxy,
The entire universe,
Trust that the intelligence of the entire universe is within you and all around you,
Relaxing back into the sense of trust,
A gentle attention back into the sacred space of your heart,
And welcoming back your sankalpa now,
Feeling it,
Or stating it now,
I trust myself to know exactly what I need,
Or I trust myself to know the next best action,
Or the more I trust in myself,
The more I can trust in the universe,
Allow the sankalpa to infuse the space within and all around.
Begin to sense the emotional tone that might be present here,
And the rhythm of your breath,
Like waves rolling in and waves rolling back out to sea,
Sensing the shape of your physical body,
The density of your body resting deeply on the support beneath you,
And sensing also the sounds around you,
And here on this recording,
The sense of your environment around you,
Or structure of the building around you perhaps,
And begin to deepen your breath with a long inhale through the nose,
And a sigh through the mouth,
And again a deep breath in,
Filling the lungs all the way and releasing,
Audible sigh,
And once more,
Deep breath in,
And really letting go,
Letting your breath settle back into its natural rhythm,
And when you feel ready,
Begin to slowly move the fingers,
The toes,
A nod of the head,
Maybe a stretch of the arms and the legs,
Or gradually a hug of the knees into the chest.
You might stretch your arms and legs up to the sky,
And begin to rotate the ankles and the wrists,
Just very slowly and mindfully reawakening your physical body,
And continue to notice how you feel,
And the effects of your yoga nidra practice.
Could you savor what you've created here within yourself today,
As you continue to emerge from this practice?
And you might roll to one side to take a couple of deep breaths,
Feeling the support of the earth beneath you,
That support in which you can trust.
