So you are very welcome to today's meditation practice and I would like you to get yourself ready for meditation by sitting comfortably and just placing your hands very comfortably in your lap and I'm going to invite you to close your eyes and as you close your eyes just taking a moment to arrive into your physical body to begin to turn your attention inwards and as you turn your attention inwards I'm going to invite you to drop down into your heart space and from here I'm going to invite you to practice heart focus breathing breathing in through the heart and breathing out through the heart breathing in expansion and on the out breath releasing any tension overwhelm any anxiety we might be carrying in our physical body breathing in love breathing out stress breathing in expansion for me breathing out constriction breathing in peace breathing out worry and I'm going to invite you to visualize yourself on a beautiful beach and there's the most beautiful white sand and it's about five o'clock in the afternoon the temperature is absolutely perfect and as you walk along the beach you can feel the sand between your toes and this beautiful warm sand is helping you to feel so centered so connected so grounded in this moment and then you take a seat just by the edge of the water and you start to watch the waves as they come and go and as the wave comes in it washes over your feet and as it goes back out it takes the sand with it and the waves are a representation of our emotions and our stories the waves as they move in you'll start to notice some are big some are small some cover your feet and part of your legs and some never touch your feet at all and I want you to bring to mind something that has been weighing on you something that you've been carrying and I want you to bring it into your heart and I want you to visualize the next wave that comes in and washes over your feet as it goes back out to sea it takes your worries your burdens takes it all with you and as it goes back out to sea it gets transmuted and transformed by the power of the ocean and just allow these waves to come and go each one representing a different aspect of yourself that you're ready to let go of and essentially each wave is giving you the opportunity to lighten your load maybe a big wave comes in and you feel you can barely breathe it might feel all-consuming but know that every wave that comes in goes back out to sea again so breathe in with the wave as it comes in and then release and let it go and see it going back out to sea and I just want you to spend a couple of minutes here breathing with the wave as it comes in and then releasing and letting go on the out breath and for some of you the waves will be intense and for some of you they will be much smaller depending where you are today but allow the oceans energy to work with you today to help lay down some of what you're carrying to help lighten your load see the waves as they wash in taking a deep in breath and then releasing and letting go on the out breath I'm going to invite you to lie back in the sand now and you can feel the warm glow of the Sun in your face and it heats through your body and it's the perfect temperature and as you lie back on the sand you just fully surrender and allow your full body weight to be held by the beach by the sand relax release let go and just feel how good it feels to fully let go you can hear the sound of the water feel the Sun in your face but everything else around you is so peaceful you connect with your breath take long slow deep breaths and with each breath you feel more relaxed more at ease more open and one final time I'm going to invite you to let it all go let it all go relaxing your shoulders relaxing your head back relaxing each and every muscle in your body and then you begin to sit up and then stand up and make your way back across the beach and there's beautiful wooden steps and you begin to climb the steps and as you do we're going to count from ten to one and when we reach one you're going to be back in your body open your eyes feeling fully refreshed and present in the moment as we count ten nine eight seven six five four three two and one gently bringing movement back into your fingers and your toes and gently opening your eyes feeling fully refreshed and energized thank you for meditating with me today
