Hello and welcome to this meditation,
Life Beyond Fear.
Some people believe fear is the devil himself.
Personally,
I don't know.
But fear can certainly be a devil in stopping us live life to the full.
Fear can narrow our perception of ourselves so much that we are blind to our incredible,
Possibly infinite potential.
A big part of living in fear is staying safely inside our comfort zone.
It's called a comfort zone for a reason.
It's comfortable and that feels nice.
I believe there's nothing wrong with having some of this assurance in life.
Although never or rarely stepping outside of this zone can make it very difficult to evolve mentally,
Physically or spiritually.
The things we avoid in life can often keep coming back to us,
Inviting us to break through.
It's up to us whether we choose to run or step up and be brave.
We have all been there.
Starting a new career,
Public speaking,
Competing in a hobby for the first time.
When we look back at the greatest moments or breakthroughs in our life,
Many of them were created because we broke the chains of fear.
It was that resilience and inner strength that made it happen.
You didn't let fear win and that's why you can look back and enjoy that memory forever.
Which made your essence all the more beautiful because of it.
I love the phrase from Suzanne Jeffers' book,
Feel the fear and do it anyway.
Nobody can live life fully,
Absent of fear.
But overcoming it and going ahead with it anyway allows us to grow.
Becoming more confident,
Independent and competent in the process.
I'll now read you my favourite ever poem which tackles the depths of fear powerfully.
Replace the word God with universe or nature in your mind if that suits you.
The beliefs are irrelevant to the powerful message behind the poem.
Marianne Williamson wrote,
Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.
Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.
It is our light,
Not our darkness that most frightens us.
We ask ourselves,
Who am I to be brilliant,
Gorgeous,
Talented,
Fabulous.
Actually,
Who are you not to be?
You are a child of God.
Your playing small does not serve the world.
There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you.
We are all meant to shine as children do.
We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us.
It's not just in some of us,
It's in everyone.
And as we let our own light shine,
We unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.
As we are liberated from our own fear,
Our presence automatically liberates others.
I hope you're able to resonate with these words.
And I'm sure this poem will continue to inspire and impact people for many years to come.
We'll now do a couple of short exercises to help us let go of fear.
Number one is a breathing technique.
As you take a deep breath in through the nose,
Imagine a loving,
Brave,
Resilient energy coming into your body.
As you exhale,
Imagine your limitations and fears slowly drifting away,
Exiting your being.
Do this for two minutes now,
Breathing in and out through the nose.
And again,
Really focusing as you inhale a loving,
Brave,
Resilient energy coming into the body.
And as you exhale,
Really feel the fears and limitations leaving the body and your being.
Keep focusing one more minute,
Inhaling a loving,
Brave,
Resilient energy,
Exhaling out the limitations and fears.
Okay,
That's great.
You can use this technique for longer as part of your own practice if you've found it effective.
Technique number two is called awakening your inner light.
We'll use the breath for this one too.
So imagine there is a lion living inside of your heart.
As you inhale,
Imagine this brave energy coming into your heart,
Really focusing on the heart chakra and breathing right into there.
As you exhale,
Imagine the lion roaring and the vibration of this,
Eliminating any fear vibrations throughout your body.
Inhibit the lion or lioness energy.
If you're feeling brave,
Let out three big roars on the exhalation.
No worries if not.
And again,
Continue the technique for two minutes.
Just to repeat,
As you inhale,
Building this brave energy,
Lion energy coming into the heart.
And as you exhale,
Imagine the lion roaring loudly and vibrating throughout the whole body,
Eliminating any fear vibrations.
So have a go and see how you feel.
One more minute for this technique.
Again,
Really focus on this brave energy coming into the heart.
Make sure it's a loving energy as well,
Using your bravery to serve yourself and others in a loving way.
As you exhale,
Comes out,
Imagine the lion roaring,
Vibrating,
This loving brave energy all through the body.
Okay,
You can relax the breathing now.
Again,
If you enjoyed this practice,
Make it part of your daily routine or weekly routine.
Just to finish off,
I'd like to say,
Next time you're in a position to live in love or fear,
Say to yourself,
Feel the fear and do it anyway.
And revel in the liberating freedom of this mentality.
This will not only liberate yourself,
But help liberate those around you.
Let's all try and live life beyond fear.
Big love to you all and good luck on your quest.
Peace out.
