Hi and welcome.
Thank you for being here.
I am happy and proud to see you.
My name is Alexandra Nash and I'm an Unplugged Certified Meditation Teacher.
And I will encourage you right from the start today to truly try and remain here and let everything go.
So let's start by taking a deep breath and shake your body a little bit and settle into your space for the next few moments.
Today we're going to ask ourselves two very simple questions.
The inspiration for this came about a few weeks ago when I was at an event with my day job.
We were all gathered during a workshop and we were expected to discuss the company's values and what they meant to us.
We started chatting and I asked a few people about their own personal values.
Did they know them?
What were they?
I was surprised to experience the number of blank stares and the amount of people that hadn't thought deeply about this.
In fact,
It all made me smile a little.
How are we supposed to connect to a company's values?
When we don't even know our own personal ones?
How can we know what we want to grow into when we haven't even grounded ourselves properly?
Much like we know what flower that will grow in spring depends on what seeds we dug into the ground.
Grounding and growing,
That's how it works.
So I wanted to take this time to do this together so that when we set off on our path of to-do lists after this meditation,
We won't blindly be following someone else's values,
But instead be guided by our own.
So when you're ready,
Let's make ourselves comfortable and if it feels right for you,
You can close your eyes.
During this entire practice,
Our intention is to take deep breaths in through the nose and out through the mouth.
Let's take a deep breath in together and let that go with an audible sigh through the mouth.
Let's do that one more time.
Begin to slow down your breath,
Feeling your belly rise and fall as you inhale and exhale.
I invite you to drop your shoulders away from your ears,
Sink into your sit bones,
Let the crown of your head stand tall towards the sky.
Maybe let your knees fall heavily to the sides,
Relax your forehead,
Relax your jaw,
And cleanse your teeth.
Take another deep cleansing breath in through your nose and out through your mouth.
Keep breathing at your own pace,
But do notice how your breath flows in and out of your body.
Now let's draw our attention into our mind and move down about 18 inches from our head into our heart.
Start focusing more on your exhalations than your inhalations.
And really breathe with that heart center in mind.
It's time to check in with two very simple questions.
I will start with one as you sit in silence and focus on breathing through your heart space.
Who are you?
Who are you really?
Just observe what comes up and passes through you.
Who are you?
Who are you really?
And as you keep breathing,
I want to ask you,
What do you want?
What do you really want?
And again,
Just observe what comes up and passes through you.
Are those answers what feels really true to you?
Do they matter to you?
If unconstructive self-talk shows up,
Just let it all pass.
And as you keep breathing and have those two questions in mind,
Who are you and what do you really want?
Now imagine a blue sky staying in your heart and feel your breath going in and out.
I will go through some common values and see if any of those stick to your blue sky.
If they connect to your core,
To your deepest values,
Breathe them in and see how they sit with your two questions.
Who are you and what do you want?
So for the rest of this meditation,
Enjoy connecting with some of these words.
And if you honored some of these values into your priorities today,
My question is,
What might change?
As you hear these words,
Silently repeat them to yourself to see which ones feel true to you.
Freedom,
Happiness,
Truth,
Mastery,
Abundance,
Health,
Creativity,
Growth,
Security,
Compassion,
Kindness,
Grounded,
Successful,
Peaceful,
Always learning.
Which one of these words resonate with you today?
Take a deep breath and silently repeat using your own chosen words.
I am truth and I want freedom.
Who are you and what do you want?
Repeat using your own chosen words.
I am truth and I want freedom.
I am and I want and insert your own words.
When you're ready,
You can now start moving your body.
Let that statement really sink into your body.
Wiggle your fingers and toes,
Maybe stretch a little.
Sit up straight and strong and when you're ready,
You can open your eyes.
If it feels right for you,
Truly try and bring the meaning of those words into your day ahead and let them guide you on your own personal journey.
Thank you for meditating with me and have a beautiful intentional day.
