Hello everyone,
My name is Alex L and welcome to this affirmation meditation.
I'm an author,
Certified breathwork coach,
And restorative writing teacher.
In today's meditation,
I am going to be inviting you to hold space for the duality that shows up in our lives.
So often,
We're taught that things are either black or white,
Yes or no,
Good or bad.
And while we can hold space for all of those things,
There will be moments when we have to hold space for more than one truth,
For more than one thing.
In today's practice,
I'd like to invite you to sit in a warm place,
Not necessarily temperature wise,
But a place that makes you feel comfortable,
Safe,
And held.
To me,
That is warmth.
And as I read through our affirmations on duality,
I'd like you to close your eyes,
Soften your body,
Unclench your jaw,
And be with me and my voice in this moment.
You deserve this time.
Everything else can wait.
Let's begin.
Take a deep breath in through the nose and exhale,
Emptying your belly through an opened mouth.
I can and still.
Repeat those two phrases,
I can and still.
I can leave a relationship and still miss the person I left.
I can show up and be kind and still exercise healthy boundaries.
I can change for the better and still have work to do.
I can love a person deeply and still choose that it's safest to keep them at a distance.
I can heal from my past and still wish things were different.
I can outgrow people and still want the very best for them.
I can rest and recharge and still be productive.
I can grieve and still welcome joy.
As we move through life,
We must learn to honor the duality that meets us.
We can hold two things at once.
Inhale through the nose and exhale through an open mouth,
Emptying your belly,
Sighing it out.
Then inhale through the nose and exhale.
Drop your shoulders and unclench your jaw.
Open and hold space for the truth of your life.
You can feel broken and still remember that you are whole.
