Hello and welcome to day six of the mindful mornings challenge here on Insight Timer.
My name is Alex L and it's a pleasure to be here starting the day together.
Today I'll be sharing a little bit about my morning routine before guiding you through a short affirmation meditation.
Mornings to me have always been a sacred time.
There's something special about being up before the sun.
I've got to be honest,
I am not a morning person,
But I am learning that mornings offer me a sense of peace and stillness that the rest of the day cannot.
I usually start my mornings with an eight ounce cup of room temperature water.
Hydration is key.
Then I wash my face and brush my teeth before heading down to the kitchen to make my tea or coffee for the day.
Brewing a hot drink is a daily ritual and practice for me.
I like being able to do that in the hush of the morning.
Part of my morning ritual is also gratitude practice.
It's another way to lean into the sacred stillness of the morning,
Which we're going to practice together today.
Feel free to get into a comfortable seat and connect with your breath.
If you're not in the mood to sit still today,
No worries.
I invite you to have this playing in the background as we start our day together.
Gratitude affirmations call us back to the present moment.
Rising and moving through the world with a grateful heart,
Even through adversity,
Can be challenging,
But so worth it.
We've all been through a lot.
And still,
If you are here with me today,
Listening to this,
That alone is a reason to lean into gratitude.
We are alive.
As we move through this meditation,
I'd like you to repeat the gratitude affirmations after me.
I'd also like you to pay close attention to how you feel in your body.
Let's begin.
