There are times when we feel restless,
Stuck.
It's as if something inside of us is stirring,
But we can't quite put our finger on it.
Maybe it is just a mood passing through,
Or something external is impacting our lives in such a way that it feels like it's stealing our spark.
Perhaps someone's words,
Energy,
Or other circumstances have dimmed your light.
Finding the way out of this shadow may seem difficult,
And the more we fight against the feeling,
The more intense it can get.
This meditation was created to help you move through these darker moments.
It is an invitation to come home to yourself,
To reclaim your light,
And to remember the divine being you truly are.
My name is Adriene,
And I will be your meditation guide.
Let's begin.
Start by getting comfortable in your space.
As you settle in,
Take a long,
Slow,
Deep breath in through your nose.
Now gently let that go.
Take another long,
Slow,
Deep breath in,
And as you release it,
Feel the surface that holds you,
The earth beneath you supporting you.
You are safe.
You are held in this space.
Returning your breath to a natural but slow rhythm,
Begin to relax your body.
Starting from the crown of your head,
Feel your forehead soften,
As if with each breath your muscles ease even deeper.
Relax your jaw,
Your neck,
Feel your shoulders drop and your arms grow heavy.
Each breath is like a gentle cleansing,
A message to your body to be present,
To let go of any of the weight you carried with you into this moment.
Release any tension in your torso,
And feel the weight of your legs on the surface that holds you.
You are completely at ease.
Gently remind yourself that you have nowhere else to be and nothing else to do but to be here in this moment.
Take this time to silently set an intention to allow whatever is weighing on your heart to move through you,
Knowing that in this moment you are free,
You are light.
Now,
Bring your awareness to your heart center.
Feel the gentle beating of your heart.
Use your imagination to visualize a spark of radiant light in the center of your chest.
This golden flame flickers,
Perhaps it has been dimmed by the noise of the world,
Worry or exhaustion,
But it is there,
It is eternal,
It is beautiful.
Take some time to give it loving attention.
You likely spend time giving loving attention to others.
Now it is time to turn that love inward.
Take a moment to see this light illuminating brighter with each loving thought and each breath you take.
Allow the heaviness to move through you,
As if it is being released with each beat of your heart.
Recalling times when your heart is light,
Ask yourself,
What fills my heart with joy and love?
Softening into the truth of what your heart is revealing,
Bring your senses to a time when you felt your heart was full of love,
Of joy.
Simply feel those familiar feelings without the ego interfering.
With each reflection of joy,
Peace and love,
Envision the golden light at your heart center growing even brighter,
Like adding more wood to a small fire.
See this light expanding.
It is steady,
Warm,
More brilliant with each loving breath.
The light begins to radiate outward,
Down your torso,
To your fingertips and down your legs to your toes.
It extends upward all the way to the crown of your head,
Illuminating every fiber of your being and filling you with a sense of loving peace.
With the image of yourself immersed in this beautiful light,
I would like to offer a few moments to allow these feelings to ripple through you.
For the next few minutes,
I invite you to silently repeat the mantra Aham Jyoti.
This is Sanskrit for I am Divine Light.
Simply sit with the feelings you have created and repeat the mantra Aham Jyoti.
When you feel your mind wander,
That's okay.
Just gently bring your loving attention back to the mantra Aham Jyoti until you hear my voice once again,
Aham Jyoti.
Feeling a sense of lightness,
Of peace.
Take a long,
Slow,
Deep breath in.
Now release it gently.
Let the feeling of love wash over you.
Feel your light shimmering within you and all around you,
Warm and bright.
When you feel ready,
Begin to become aware of your physical body in the space that has held you during this meditation.
Feel the air on your skin.
Feel the surface where you are seated or lying down.
Now,
Slowly place your hand on your heart.
Feel it beating gently,
Bringing your joy to life.
I would like you to smile.
Remember,
Your light helps illuminate those around you,
And nothing can take that from you.
Carry this feeling of love with you into your day and shine your light for all to see.
Remember how truly loved you are.
With a lightness of being and a renewed sense of self,
Slowly open your eyes.
