This meditation is intended to help you let go of your day and guide you into a peaceful sleep.

Let's begin.
Start by taking a few moments to get comfortable.
Really settle in.
Now close your eyes.
I would like you to set an intention for this meditation to give yourself permission to let go of any heaviness from the day and allow your body and mind to drift into a peaceful rest.
Feel the bed beneath you,
The earth supporting you.
You are grounded.
You are safe.
Take a long deep cleansing breath in and release it gently,
Making your exhale twice as long as your inhale.
Do this for just a few breaths until you feel your body grow heavy and your heart become light.
Engaging your mind before setting off to sleep,
I would like you to reflect on anything you are grateful for,
Anything that went well during your day.
This can be big or small.
Feel your heart fill with a sense of joy as you continue to breathe with the intention of settling your body and your mind.
Returning your breath to a natural rhythm,
Imagine you are surrounded by a beautiful and loving light,
As if you are being gently embraced by a bubble of calm and security.
Invite each breath to be an offering,
A way of releasing.
With every inhale,
You draw in light.
With every exhale,
You release what no longer serves you.
Breathing in peace.
Breathing out surrender.
Gently letting go of anything that may be heavy on your mind and your heart.
Inhale peace.
Exhale surrender.
Breathing in love.
Breathing out release.
With each breath,
You are lighter,
Boundless and free.
Now,
With the image of this soft golden light in your mind's eye,
Begin to feel its warmth at the crown of your head.
This light is healing and divine.
As it moves gently downward,
It touches your forehead,
Your jaw,
Softening,
Releasing,
Healing each part of you.
Feel the light travel down your shoulders,
Your fingertips.
It slowly flows through your chest,
Warm and loving,
Easing any heaviness in your heart.
It moves down your belly,
Your legs,
And finally to your feet and your toes.
Every part of you is bathed in light.
Every part of you is safe to rest.
Now,
See yourself surrounded by an infinite canopy of light,
Each spark reminding you that you are loved,
You are safe,
You are held and at peace.
You are the light.
Feel yourself melting into this magnificent radiance.
Allow these truths to settle into your heart as you drift.
