Hello,

My friend.

Welcome to this special Spring Equinox Metta meditation.

The equinox marks a time when day and night are in equal balance,

And is a lovely reminder of the cycles of renewal and growth.

Today,

We'll embrace the season's energy of new beginnings,

Cultivating loving kindness for ourselves,

Others,

And all beings everywhere.

So find a comfortable position,

Perhaps outside if you can,

Or near a bright window,

And allow your body to settle into this moment of stillness.

Close your eyes if that's comfortable for you,

Or just keep a soft gaze.

Take a deep breath in,

And imagine inhaling the freshness of spring.

And as you gently exhale,

See if you can release any tension you may be holding in your shoulders,

Your jaw,

Your belly.

Just letting yourself fully arrive here,

Right now.

Feel the ground beneath you,

Steady and supportive,

Just as the earth nurtures new life in the spring.

You can visualize yourself as a budding tree,

Your roots anchored in the soil,

Drawing in nourishment,

And your branches stretching outward and upward toward the sunlight.

Breathe deeply here,

Feeling this balance of groundedness and openness.

We'll take a few breaths,

Inhaling the energy of renewal,

Exhaling to let go of any heaviness or stagnation from the winter season.

Now bring your attention to your heart center,

Imagining a warm green light glowing there,

The light of growth,

New life,

And compassion,

The color of leaves or grass in the springtime sun.

So we'll begin by offering loving kindness to yourself.

As spring invites us to grow,

Allow these phrases to nurture and support you.

May I be safe,

Rooted in strength and stability.

May I feel peace,

Like a calm breeze on a spring day.

May I grow with ease,

Flourishing in the warmth of the season.

May I thrive,

Embracing renewal and joy.

Now picture that green light in your heart,

Expanding,

Surrounding you with warmth and love,

Like the sunlight encourages flowers to bloom and leaves to unfurl.

Now bring to mind someone you care about,

A friend,

A partner,

Or loved one,

Who could use the fresh energy of spring.

Visualize their face and offer them these wishes.

May you be safe,

Wrapped in love like a budding flower.

May you find peace in the season's renewal.

May you feel warmth and joy in the sunlight.

May you embrace growth,

Hope,

And new beginnings.

Imagine sitting together with them,

Wrapped in this vibrant green energy,

Greeting this return of spring.

Now think of someone you encounter in daily life,

But don't know well.

Perhaps a neighbor,

A coworker,

Or a stranger you recently noticed.

Picture their face and repeat.

May you be safe,

Held in the earth's nurturing energy.

May you feel peace,

Like the harmony of birdsong.

May you grow and flourish,

Finding joy in your rebirth.

May you thrive in this season of expanding light.

Visualize the green light from your heart,

Extending outward,

Wrapping this person in kindness.

Next,

Gently bring to mind someone with whom you've experienced difficulty.

This part of the practice can feel challenging,

But remember,

Offering kindness to others frees your heart and creates space for your own growth.

So visualize this person and offer them these wishes.

May you be safe,

Anchored in balance and stability.

May you find peace,

Even amidst your struggles.

May you grow and thrive,

Supported by the renewal of spring.

May you flourish in harmony with the season's energy.

And see that green light surrounding them,

Softening the space between you.

Let go of any resistance here,

And allow the kindness to flow.

Now,

Expand your loving kindness to all beings everywhere,

Near and far,

Seen and unseen.

Imagine the green light growing,

Spreading across the earth,

Like the first flowers out of the soil,

Connecting and nourishing all life.

You can offer these kind intentions.

May all beings be safe,

Held in the earth's wisdom.

May all beings find peace,

Like the stillness of spring mornings.

May all beings grow and flourish,

Nurtured by the cycles of renewal.

May all beings thrive in the beauty of this season.

Picture the entire world glowing with this green light,

Offering your loving kindness to all the plants and animals and fellow human beings with whom you share this beautiful planet.

When you feel ready,

You can bring your attention back to yourself,

Feeling the warmth of spring in your heart.

I'll take a few deeper breaths,

Feeling the support of the surface underneath you.

And we'll take another moment to honor this equinox with a few blessings.

So you can place your hands over your heart if you'd like,

And offer yourself these words.

I honor the balance of light and dark within and around me.

I embrace this time of growth as an opportunity for ease and joy.

I welcome the warmth and new beginnings of spring.

Take a deep breath in,

Letting the green light within you glow brightly.

And as you exhale,

Imagine this light radiating outward,

Carrying your loving intentions into the world.

And as you feel ready,

You can open your eyes if you have them closed.

You can stretch,

Just come back into the space around you.

May this spring equinox bring you new abundance,

Renewal,

And a sense of inner balance.

Thank you so much for practicing with me today,

And I'll see you next time.

Thank you so much for practicing with me today,

And I'll see you next time.
