In this meditation from the Simply Happy: Finding Peace in the Present series, you’re guided to rediscover the quiet joy of connection — the sense of belonging that comes when you soften into presence. Through breath, awareness, a gentle narrative supported by the sounds of rain, you’ll sense how life itself holds you. Happiness unfolds naturally here, in shared stillness, when we remember we’re part of something larger than ourselves.

Hello,

Everyone,

And welcome back to our Simply Happy series,

And this one is going to be entitled The Warmth of Connection,

And most of us believe or feel that we are separated,

That we're individual,

That we're alone in this life.

However,

Nothing could be further from the truth,

And once we realize and understand that we are connected with everything,

Then we can ride the flow of life,

Move through it with ease and grace,

Swim with the tide as opposed to up the stream or river.

Feeling connected,

And this is not something that's alien to us,

Of course,

Because if you have children,

You'll understand,

Or someone you deeply love when there's moments when there is no words needed.

But it's deeper than that,

Because we're all connected to the trees and nature through the breath,

And the breath is the bridge of connection between us and everything,

Including the infinite,

Because once the breath is no longer there,

That's what's left.

So,

Throughout this meditation,

I'd like you just to simply listen to the wisdom within you and understand that you're deeply and truly connected,

You're not alone,

You are,

We are.

So,

Come to a comfortable place,

Somewhere that you generally meditate,

And if it's your meditation,

First meditation,

That is awesome for me,

A seat,

Or a cushion,

Or lying down,

Really whatever it is that you find comfortable,

Somewhere your body feels supported.

Close your eyes and take a slow breath in,

And a slow breath out.

Where does the breath start,

And where does the breath finish?

That's a question.

It's not at the end of your nose,

Is it?

It's much,

Much more than that.

Let the breath settle into a natural rhythm,

Allow yourself to get deep,

Rested,

And connected,

Deeper with the breath.

Let the breath and the surroundings envelop you,

Feel a part of that there is,

A part of everything,

A place in everything.

Disconnect is an illusion.

I need you,

You need me.

Each inhale brings calm,

And every exhale lets the day fall away.

Calm in,

And calm out.

And if it's first thing in the morning that you're doing this practice,

Then that's fine,

Let next disappear.

There's plenty of time for next,

And nobody really knows what next is.

Plans are fine,

But as they say,

If you want to make God smile and laugh,

Tell him your plans,

Or her perhaps.

Just let go,

Breathe into this moment.

Bring awareness to the center of your chest.

Notice the warmth there,

The pulse,

The gentle movement of life,

And with each breath feel that warmth spreading through you.

There's no need for words or effort,

Just a simple recognition,

I am here,

I am alive.

Let go of the boundaries,

The boundaries that hold you back.

Let them just melt away,

And feel the space outside of you.

Feel the space outside of you.

Feel the space inside of you.

And expand the hearing to as far as you can stretch it,

Way,

Way out to the horizon.

Awakening the happiness within.

Awakening the happiness within.

Once again,

Sense the space around you,

The quiet hum of life itself,

The air touching your skin,

The sounds in the distance,

The rhythm of your own breath joining the rhythm of the world.

The trees breathe out,

You breathe in.

The natural pulse of life.

Feel connected through your heartbeat,

Allowing you to be in this moment,

Letting go of everything,

Falling deep into that state of happiness.

Feel how you're a part of this great conversation,

Not separate,

Not alone,

But woven into the same fabric as everything around you.

Your atoms are our atoms,

The same atoms and molecules that have always been.

Reconnected and manifest as you.

Touch the spirit.

Imagine your breath moving outward in gentle waves,

Touching trees,

Sky,

Ocean,

People you'll never meet,

And returning,

Carrying the warmth of their breath back to you.

This is connection,

Effortless,

Natural,

Already happening.

Simply be involved in that,

The breath is your bridge,

Mind,

Body,

And spirit.

Connected.

Now rest in that feeling,

Rest in that connection and happiness,

The quiet pulse of life shared between you and everything that is.

Let it remind you of the same rhythm in all things,

The same rhythm in all things.

Each drop,

Each wave,

Each breath,

A reflection of the same simple truth.

We belong to one another.

We belong to one.

We are part of the mystery of life,

Together,

Walking together hand in hand,

Through the majesty of this moment,

And everything dropping away,

Total peace,

Totally relaxed,

Everything dropping away.

Take a slow,

Full breath in and let it go.

Sense that soft,

Warm,

Still blowing in your heart and chest.

Slowly starting to take some deeper breaths into the body now,

Deeper breaths into the body,

Gently moving your body and coming back to this level of consciousness,

Slowly coming back,

And as you open your eyes or return to your day,

Carry this feeling with you,

The knowing that connection isn't something to create,

It's something to remember,

And when you remember,

Happiness rises naturally,

Quiet,

Steady,

And real.

This is my wish for you,

Coming back now.

Thank you everyone for joining me.

If this session touched you,

Touched something in you,

I'd love to hear from you.
