Welcome to your meditation on finding a balance of yin and yang energy.
So find a comfortable position,
Might shift around a little bit to just perfect yourself into a place where you can be comfortable and sit for a few moments.
And closing your eyes,
You're going to take a few deep breaths,
Big deep breath in,
And try to have a really exaggerated out breath,
Letting go of whatever tension you might be holding.
Another big deep breath in.
And this one as you exhale,
Allowing yourself to land in this space and time.
One more deep breath in and exhaling into your body.
Now you can allow your breath to return to its normal state.
And see if you can just notice this process of breathing in and breathing out.
Not breathing in any particular way,
But just notice the movement of the breath inside and outside.
And paying attention to the in-breath,
And then put your hands on your heart center.
Both hands on your heart center and notice that as you breathe in,
Your hands rise,
Your body becomes filled with oxygen.
And as you breathe in,
Imagine that you are breathing in the yin energy,
Loving,
Connected.
Being present as you breathe in,
Your body is filled with this kind of connected,
Nurturing energy and let it fill your entire being with each in-breath.
With each in-breath.
If you are a visual person,
You can even add this visualization of imagining that you are breathing in a golden light.
As you breathe in,
You're breathing in goodness,
You're breathing in loving,
Connected presence.
And see if you can let this yin energy just nurture you,
Comfort you,
And heal you.
Cultivating this on each in-breath for a few more moments.
And now we're going to let go of the focus on the yin,
On the in-breath.
And we're going to focus on the out-breath.
So first of all,
I'd like you to invite you to take your hands away from your heart center and actually put them at your side or in your lap,
But with your palms facing outward.
And now switching your focus to the out-breath,
Letting go of the yin and the in-breath,
And focusing on the out-breath,
Breathing out.
And as you breathe out,
Getting in touch with your yang energy,
Your active energy,
Your life force.
This life force that can protect you,
Provide you with what you need,
Can motivate you.
Let's see if we can get in touch with that fiery,
Energetic flow.
Flows with each out-breath through your body.
You may even see the energy arising from the base of your spine,
Moving up your spine and straightening your back,
And even arising out to the top of your head.
Allowing this energy to flow through you,
To move through you,
And to radiate out into the world with each out-breath.
Feeling the power,
Feeling the power of your own yang life force.
Take a few more moments to just really close your eyes,
And take a few more moments to just really cultivate this energy.
And now we're going to bring the two of them together.
So you can choose what to do with your hands,
You can leave them by your side,
Or on your lap,
Or one on your heart,
Perhaps,
And one on your belly.
And take a moment to just really ask,
Where do my hands need to be?
And then bringing your awareness to your breath,
And this time as you breathe in,
Breathing in yin,
Breathing in nurturing,
Soothing,
Comforting,
Healing,
Self,
Compassion,
Energy.
And as you breathe out,
Breathing out yang,
Breathing out yang,
Energy.
And as you breathe out,
Breathing out yang,
Breathing out this life force that protects you and provides for you and motivates you to make a change.
Yin,
Compassion in,
And yang,
Compassion out.
Allowing these two forms of self-compassion to flow freely and impeded through your body.
Yin and yang,
In balance and in harmony.
Blowing as easily as the waves of an ocean rise and fall.
In with yin energy,
Out with yang energy.
Opening to these two essential life energies that are already there within you.
Don't need to create it,
You just need to open.
Breathing in yin,
Yang,
Allowing yourself to be filled with both energies in balance.
So that you are whole and complete.
And then when you're ready,
Letting go of the focus on the breath.
And just feeling into your body right here and now.
Honoring the presence of these energies.
Honoring whatever your experience is in this moment,
Allowing yourself to be exactly as you are.
Observing these feelings of balance.
When you are ready,
You can come back into the present moment.
Feeling the air on your skin,
Feeling the surface supporting you.
You might begin to roll your shoulders and your neck.
And inviting your consciousness back into the now moment,
Gently opening your eyes.
