Sometimes our big grand bold visions and long-term goals can feel overwhelming.

We imagine a lifetime of commitment and change which can build up our resistance to it and make even our best intentions feel extremely daunting.

So today we're gonna focus on simplifying things and bringing it all back to the present moment.

Instead of tackling an entire journey all at once,

We're gonna focus on the now.

Just for today,

What if we set aside the weight of an entire lifetime and commit to just really small and manageable actions?

For instance,

If just for today I nourish myself with healthy food,

Or just for today I will aim to walk 10,

000 steps,

Just for today I'm going to nourish my spirit and turn inward for a few moments.

This just-for-today approach helps to dissolve the resistance that we can really feel when we're looking too far into the distance.

By breaking down our visions into small bite-sized commitments,

We make them more accessible and much less intimidating.

It's about being really present and giving ourselves permission to focus on the here and now.

So let's take a moment to close our eyes and just reflect on this beautiful poem that captures this essence perfectly.

Just for today,

I will try to live through this day only and not tackle my whole life problem at once.

I can do something for 12 hours that might appall me if I felt I had to keep it up for a lifetime.

Just for today,

I will be happy.

Most folks are as happy as they make their minds up to be.

Just for today,

I will adjust myself to what is and not try to adjust everything else to my own desires.

I will take my luck as it comes and fit myself to it.

Just for today,

I will try to strengthen my mind.

I will study,

I will learn something useful,

I will not be a mental loafer.

I will read something that requires effort,

Thought,

And concentration.

Just for today,

I will exercise my soul in three ways.

I will do somebody a good turn and not get found out.

If anybody knows of it,

It will not count.

I will do at least two things I don't want to do,

Just for exercise.

I will not show anyone that my feelings are hurt.

They may be hurt,

But today I will not show it.

Just for today,

I will act courteously,

Criticize not one bit,

Not find fault with anything,

And not try to improve or regulate anyone except myself.

Just for today,

I will have a program.

May not follow it exactly,

But I will have it.

I will save myself from two pests,

Hurry and indecision.

Just for today,

I will have a quiet half hour all by myself and relax.

During this half hour,

Sometime I will try to get a better perspective of my life.

Just for today,

I will be unafraid.

Especially,

I will not be afraid to enjoy what is beautiful and to believe that as I give to the world,

So the world will give to me.

Let these words resonate with you and embrace the extreme simplicity of focusing just on today.

By committing to these really small,

Intentional acts,

You honor your body,

Your mind,

Your spirit.

It's not all about perfection,

But just about being present.

So just for today,

Just for today,

What small step can you take to fuel your temple?

How can you honor yourself in the here and now?

Embrace this mindset just for today and feel the difference that it makes in your journey.

My takeaway: Reframing. What will I do today? Make the most out of the short term opportunity to be here now. :) KEY: 5*Insightful 4*Interesting 3*Okay 2*Not For Me 1*Irritating
