Beach,

Allow yourself to get comfortable either sitting or lying down.
Make sure that you are warm enough and that you won't be disturbed.
Allow your body to soften,
Release and relax.
Take a deep breath in,
Hold at the top and then when you are ready slowly release the breath.
And as you exhale let go of the stresses and strains and any tension you might be holding in your body.
Soften,
Release and relax.
Now draw your awareness all the way down into your toes and feel the toes soften,
Release and relax.
Let that feeling of softness and relaxation spread to the soles of the feet,
To the tops of the feet,
To the ankles,
The shins,
The calves,
The knees and backs of knees,
The thighs and backs of thighs,
The hips,
Buttocks and pelvis.
Allow that feeling of softness and relaxation to spread to the abdominals,
The back,
The chest and shoulder blades and along the length of the spine from the tailbone all the way up into the neck.
Draw the awareness down into the fingers and feel the fingers soften,
Release and relax.
Allow the feeling of softness and relaxation to spread into the palms of the hands,
The backs of the hands,
The wrists,
The lower arms,
The elbows,
The upper arms,
The shoulders,
The neck,
The back of the head,
The top of the head,
The forehead,
The eyebrows,
The eyes,
The ears,
The cheeks,
The nose,
The lips,
The mouth,
The jaw,
The tongue,
The chin and the throat.
The whole body.
Allow the whole body to soften,
Release and relax.
The whole body.

Now,
Imagine that in front of you is a door.
It seems familiar and welcoming in some way.
You open the door and step through.
A wave of warmth and a sense of peace and calm permeate your being.
You're standing on the most beautiful beach you have ever seen.
You can hear the gentle swish of the waves as they draw in and out of the shoreline in a rhythm that seems to connect with your breath.
You smell and taste the salty sea air as you breathe in the tranquility of this place.
Feel the slight cool and damp breeze on your skin and the warmth of the sun as its rays rain down on you,
Filling you with light and energy.
You look out at the brilliant bright blue-green sea and watch as the sun dances and sparkles on the surface,
Inviting you forward.
The sand beneath your bare feet is the softest white powder that seems to gently caress and massage your feet as you slowly start to walk towards the sea.
As you near the water,
The sand becomes warm,
Damp and soothing and as you reach the edge of the sea,
The water gently washes over your feet,
Cleansing and healing.
The water is refreshingly cool but not cold and if you wish you can venture into the crystal clear shallows of the sea.
Feel yourself healing and relaxing even deeper as you enjoy your time in the ocean.
Feeling refreshed and cleansed,
Return to the beach and continue to walk along the water's surface,
Feeling uplifted,
Calm and relaxed and enjoying this private retreat.
On the beach up ahead is a comfortable chair or bed laid out under a large,
Shady rainbow-coloured umbrella.
You sit or lie back and feel yourself softening and sinking.
The sun shining through the umbrella above washes you in colour,
Red,
Orange,
Yellow,
Green,
Pink,
Blue,
Purple,
Violet.
Feel the colours permeating your being and cleansing and charging your energy.
Take some time here feeling peaceful and content.
Feel the When you are ready,
You can start to bring your awareness back to your body knowing that you can return to your beach retreat anytime you want or need.
Keep the feeling of peace and calm with you as you start to awaken yourself by breathing a little deeper and then giving a wriggle to your fingers and a wriggle to your toes.
You can stretch your body and gently open your eyes when you are ready.
Take a deep breath in,
Gently awakening and allowing yourself to be filled with energy.
Breathe out feeling calm,
Refreshed and filled with the peace of your beach retreat.
