I want to talk to you about something that I think is very relevant these days.
It's something that I've been struggling with sometimes as well and that I hear a lot around me too.
And it's really about listening to your own inner voice.
And especially because there's so much noise around us,
It can be very hard to hear that inner voice.
And perhaps you're thinking about this right now and you feel like,
Now that I think about it,
It feels like I've lost contact with that inner voice a little bit.
Maybe it's still there somewhere,
But it feels like it's this very soft whisper.
It's not as loud as maybe you would like it to be.
And I think your inner voice,
Let's start with that.
Your inner voice is never really super loud.
But it's something that is always there on the background,
This soft whisper,
This nudge that you can feel,
This feeling inside of you.
When you know you're going to make a decision.
It tells you whether it's the right one or not.
And if you don't listen to it,
You will feel it as well.
Perhaps you can think about a situation in your past that somewhere inside of you,
Sometimes you can call it your gut feeling as well,
You felt like,
Something feels off,
But you know,
I'm going to do it anyway.
Or perhaps you convince yourself with your mind to do something,
Even though if you really tune into your gut feeling or listen to your inner voice,
You probably wouldn't have made that decision.
And I think especially in these times that we live in right now,
There's so much noise around us.
Like think about how much time we actually spend on our phones.
And,
You know,
Scroll on social media.
And I struggle with that from time to time as well.
I feel like especially on days that I'm not feeling so well or when I'm just tired,
It's so easy to just grab my phone and start scrolling.
And most of the days I try to be very intentional about it and really feel like,
Oh,
I'm just going to check.
You know,
Look for inspiration or,
You know,
I really set a goal of,
Okay,
Why am I even opening my social media?
Is it to post something?
Is it to look up something?
Instead of just opening it for no reason,
Just because you're tired or bored or don't know what to do at that moment,
And you just grab your phone and start scrolling.
And before you know it,
An hour goes by and then you think,
Oh,
What did I just do with my life?
And I'm not saying this to judge you.
As I just said,
I do the same thing sometimes.
But I think it's really important to be aware of this.
And I've noticed that the less time I spend on my phone or the less time I have this external input all the time,
The more I can actually tune into my inner voice and the shifts that it creates is really profound.
Let's talk a little bit about that first.
Like,
OK,
How can you start listening to your inner voice again if you feel like,
Yes,
There's so much noise around,
My mind is really full.
It's very hard to to focus or just to calm down,
Because maybe the first thing I would say is like,
You know,
Try to meditate and then you think,
Yeah,
But my mind is so full I cannot even sit still,
You know.
And I think maybe that's also a misconception that we often have with meditation is that you have to be,
You know,
You're not allowed to move or you have to be super silent and your mind has to be completely empty.
And I don't think that's realistic at all,
Especially because there's so much noise around us.
I feel like we're almost programmed in a way to respond to everything all the time.
So if then your goal is like,
Okay,
I'm going to do a meditation and sit still and everything has to be silent,
It's probably not going to work and it probably puts even more pressure on yourself.
And trust me,
I've been on that journey as well.
And,
You know,
Sometimes you think,
OK,
I have to surrender.
But then there's so much going on.
So how do you even do that?
One of the things that really helped me,
Especially,
For example,
When it comes to meditation,
Is just to be very kind to myself and feel like,
OK,
You know,
If I have some thoughts coming up,
That's fine.
Let's just observe them.
Because,
I mean,
I have a mind.
Thoughts will be there all the time.
I cannot just shut them down.
And the more I actually let go of that judgment of how something has to be a certain way or let go of any expectations,
How I want it to be or a certain outcome or result that I want.
The easier it actually gets,
The more I can relax,
The more I can really tune into that,
And the easier it becomes to listen to my inner voice.
What helped me with that as well is breathing exercises.
Some people call it breathwork.
You can just start with simple breathing,
Some deep breathings in and out to really tune into your body as well.
The main thing here,
Especially if you want to listen more to your inner voice,
Is to stop living just from your mind,
But to also realize,
Okay,
We don't only have a mind,
We also have a body and a spirit or soul,
Right?
So it's a combination of those.
And if we only live from our minds,
We just miss out on so much.
And then it can feel like super overwhelming with all that external noise that is around.
But as soon as we can tune into our body more and connect more with ourselves on a soul level or on a spiritual level,
It really makes a big shift.
So what I have been doing now,
For example,
Instead of,
Let's say,
A traditional meditation,
If you would like to call it that way,
Is that I just really created an energetic practice in which I just tune in and really ground myself,
Connect to the earth,
And also connect to the higher dimensions.
As you may know,
We are in the third and fourth dimension,
But there are so many higher dimensions as well.
So I connect with those frequencies,
And it feels a bit,
You could compare it with plugging myself into a charger.
And to really recharge myself and to really feel the energy flowing through my body.
So that has been a beautiful practice that I've been doing a lot lately.
And if you're thinking,
Okay,
I have no idea what she's talking about.
I have all types of different meditations and also a few in which you can practice to really tune into your own energy,
To connect to the earth or connect to the energies of the universe or however you would like to call it.
So definitely check them out if you would like to practice with this,
Even if you're skeptical,
Even if you feel like,
Oh,
Meditation is not for me.
Sometimes it's really about the resistance that we feel that can actually lead us to our biggest breakthrough.
The days that I feel like I don't feel like meditating are the days that I usually have the best experiences because I have to go through that resistance and actually that's when my body and my mind needed the most.
The fuller my mind is,
The less I feel like sitting down,
Having a moment to turn inwards or travel inwards.
But those are the moments that I needed the most.
So being open to that,
Especially if you want to connect to your inner voice more,
Is really important.
And another thing that really has helped me as well is journaling.
I feel like when I journal,
I go into a conversation with my inner voice.
It's really having a conversation with myself.
So usually I don't have necessarily an intention or a plan of what I want to write.
I just put my pen on paper and usually it starts with some random things just for example what I've been doing today or if I write in the morning what my plans are for the day.
Then when I go through that sort of basic stuff,
Let's say,
Then something along the way opens up in me and I start to have deeper conversations or deeper insights or reflections.
And that's when really the more profound work happens.
And when I feel like,
Oh,
I'm really tuning into a deeper part of me.
Which I like to call your inner voice.
And it helps to shut down the outside noise as well.
Often when I journal,
I realize how many thoughts I actually have.
And sometimes they just go and I'm like writing and just reflecting.
And I even sometimes just sit there with my pen thinking for 10 minutes and then I'm like,
Oh,
Wait,
I was journaling.
So you sometimes notice that your thoughts go everywhere.
And even having that awareness,
I think is super important because once you have the awareness,
You realize,
Okay,
Now I know what's going on.
I can change this,
Or at least I can observe it.
Because.
Let's talk about that a little bit as well.
Wanting to change.
That is something that really.
.
.
Adds to the noise,
At least for me,
Is having this constant input of information,
Whether it's on social media or whether it's on TV or wherever you get your input from.
Is this constant input or information for change?
Like,
For example,
Oh,
Buy this product.
To get better.
Oh,
You know,
This is the best advice.
No,
You should do this.
And you know,
If you collect more and more input,
You realize For example,
The same thing,
There are 10 different ways to do it,
Right?
There's so many tips and advices and whatever it is that you can do that sometimes it becomes very overwhelming.
And I think especially with those things,
It becomes very hard to actually ask yourself,
OK,
But what do I want?
Because especially when we don't know,
It's easier to just listen to someone else and think,
OK,
Let me try this.
Instead of thinking,
Okay,
Let me actually take a moment to tune into myself and ask myself,
Is this what I really need?
And once you start doing that more,
It also becomes easier to make your own decisions.
When I look back at my own journey,
When I was younger,
It was always very hard to make decisions.
And sometimes it still is,
To be honest.
And I always just said,
Well,
Well,
I'm a Libra.
So,
You know,
I balance things out.
I always look at both sides or,
You know,
But it would be with even like random things like buying clothes.
I couldn't make my own decision.
If I liked two different types of shoes and I had to choose one,
It would be like,
Okay,
What do you think?
What do you think?
And of course the person in the shop will agree with you anyway.
Because she just wants to sell,
Right?
But it's like just giving your power away,
In a sense,
Instead of just listening to yourself.
Like,
Okay,
What makes you the most excited?
Don't think about what other people will think,
But just what do you like the most?
And sometimes you just really don't know.
And those are the signs when you really feel like,
Oh,
Actually,
I don't know whether it's like a basic.
Choice of,
You know,
What I said,
Buying shoes,
Or whether it comes to bigger life decisions of perhaps thinking about the career you're in,
Like,
Okay,
Is that still what you want or?
Relationships you have in your life or friendships,
Whatever it might be.
Like choices you make.
We make so many choices every day,
Right?
And to really feel like,
Okay,
I don't know which choices to make.
That's a sign that it's time to listen more to your inner voice and to shut down that external noise more.
That's also what has been so important in my own journey to really find my own inner power,
Find my inner voice and not just listen to other people because perhaps they're more experienced.
Or perhaps I just think that it looks like they know what they're doing.
Or whatever reason it might be.
But to really trust yourself more.
There's so much advice out there of what you should be doing.
What I've realized along the way is that,
Yes,
Of course,
There can be great strategies that you can follow,
That can be great advice.
I'm not saying don't listen to any advice.
But use it in combination with your own inner voice.
Really always do this check with yourself of,
Okay,
Does this actually align with me?
Is this a path that I can take?
Instead of just following something because you see someone else successful with it and then think,
Okay,
If I take the exact same steps,
Then it should work out for me as well.
But it usually never works like that because we're all so unique and different,
Right?
So it's really about,
Yes,
You know,
Follow the advice or be inspired,
But use your own inner voice.
As well.
That's what it comes back to at the end.
To really think,
Okay,
How does this fit into my life?
How can I really trust myself more?
Because besides some of the practices I just mentioned,
Like meditation or journaling,
Or even for me,
It's for example,
Also spending time outdoors,
Especially being close to the ocean or swimming in the ocean.
Those are really moments that I can reconnect with my inner voice as well.
But besides those practices,
The core comes down to trusting yourself.
Because.
.
.
Listening to your inner voice is one thing.
But do you also trust it?
Do you trust what your inner voice tells you?
Because if you only listen to it but don't trust it,
You probably wouldn't follow it,
Right?
So it's this combination of,
Okay,
First,
Listen to it and shut down the external noise,
Then the next step would be trust it.
And then if you do that,
Take action from that and see what happens.
And then you can never go wrong.
Because your inner voice is always telling you what's best for you is always following a higher timeline.
Than you can imagine with your minds.
So that's something beautiful to wrap this up that you can reflect on.
Are you already listening to your inner voice?
And if you do,
Are you actually following your inner voice?
Are you trusting it?
And maybe it's not a yes or no answer,
Right?
Maybe it depends on the situation.
I'm also not saying that I've cracked the code and now always listen.
But I also noticed the moments when I didn't listen to my inner voice.
It's almost like I get,
You know,
Slept by the universe,
Like a wake up call of like,
Hey,
You didn't listen.
Now see what happens.
So I think it's also sometimes we need to learn those lessons.
To be able to listen to our voice more and to really realize,
Okay,
Yes,
I knew this was maybe not the best idea.
My mind took over and I did it anyway.
And now,
Okay,
I learned my lesson.
Next time I will do it differently.
And if you don't do it differently,
You will learn that lesson again as well,
Right?
So we're also in a continuous journey of growing.
And in that sense,
There's no failure.
I don't see failure as a mistake.
Failure is just a sign that something didn't work out,
But you always learn from it.
You can always gain a lesson out of it.
So in that sense.
We also shouldn't be afraid to listen to our inner voice,
To take other people's advice instead of listening to our own.
Because.
.
.
There's nothing we can really do wrong.
If something doesn't work out as we imagined.
We just keep on going.
We just take another step.
And I know that's easier said than done,
Of course,
But that's the only way that we can actually evolve and grow.
So let me know if this resonated with you.
Maybe any insights you got.
Thank you so much for listening and I will see you in the next one.
