Welcome to this meditation for counting your blessings before bed.
As you wind down for the night,
This practice will guide you to focus on the positive aspects in your life,
Grounding you in gratitude.
By reflecting on the good things in your life,
You'll create a sense of peace and contentment to carry with you into a restful sleep.
Find a comfortable position lying down with your body supported and relaxed.
Close your eyes and gently bring awareness to your breath.
Take a deep breath in through your nose,
Feeling your belly rise,
And exhale slowly through your mouth,
Allowing your body to relax deeply.
Take another deep breath in,
Filling your lungs with fresh air,
And exhale fully,
Letting go of any tension the day has brought.
Now as you breathe,
Let's check in with your body.
Notice how your body feels right now,
Allowing any remaining tension to melt away.
Relax your face,
Soften your jaw,
And let your shoulders fall heavy into the bed.
Let go of any tension in your neck,
In your back,
In your arms,
And your legs,
Allowing your whole body to sink into a deep relaxation.
Now begin to reflect on the blessings in your life.
With each breath,
Allow your heart to fill with gratitude.
Start with the small things.
Think of something you're grateful for today.
It could be a moment of joy,
A kind word,
Or even a comforting thought.
Silently or aloud,
Say to yourself what you are grateful for.
Now take a deep breath and think of another blessing in your life.
It could be a person,
An experience,
Or something you often take for granted.
Continue with this process,
Going deeper into your gratitude,
Feeling the warmth of appreciation growing within you with every single breath you take.
Let your thoughts flow naturally,
Allowing them to guide you and think about the things that bring you peace,
Joy,
And fulfillment.
Now expand your gratitude to more significant aspects of your life.
Think of bigger blessings like the love of your family,
Good health,
Your home,
Or maybe an opportunity you've been given.
As you reflect on each blessing,
Remind yourself how grateful and appreciative you are for them.
Allow the sense of gratitude to grow with each blessing,
Creating a sense of peace that spreads through your entire being.
Feel a deep sense of contentment as you count your blessings,
Knowing that you are so supported and so cared for in so many ways.
Take a few more moments to reflect on the things that you are grateful for today.
Reflect on any other blessings you want to acknowledge,
Allowing the feeling of gratitude to fill your heart,
Your mind,
And your body.
Take one more last deep breath in,
Filling your body with gratitude,
And exhale slowly,
Releasing any lingering tension you may have.
Whenever you're ready,
There's no rush.
Gently bring your awareness back to your body and to the present moment.
Let the sense of gratitude stay with you as you drift off into a peaceful,
Unrestful sleep.
Know that tomorrow will bring even more opportunities to be grateful.
