This is a quick reset and restore session for your work day.
If your life is high intensity with a lot of competing priorities,
It can be really easy to feel overstimulated and just like there's too much on your plate.
But I promise you that spending this time here is not only going to help you feel more calm,
But it's going to help you work with a more clear mind and feel more connected to the people around you.
So to start,
If you haven't closed your eyes yet,
Close them down now.
Immediately taking away the sense of sight,
You might notice your thoughts are running.
And each time you notice a thought come up,
I want you to imagine writing it on a balloon.
Could be a single word or maybe quickly the whole sentence.
And then watch that balloon fly up into the sky.
You probably already had another thought,
So go ahead and write it on the balloon again.
And this is your practice for the next few minutes.
I'll be slowly offering some cues to relax your body.
And your mind will wander to other places.
That's normal.
When it does,
Write that thought on the balloon and watch it float away.
Notice any tension in your forehead.
Relax your forehead.
Relax the eyes.
Relax your jaw.
We held a lot of tensions in our jaws,
So I'm going to invite you one more time to release any tension in your jaw.
Bringing your shoulders up to your ears and then relaxing them down,
Drop the shoulders.
Take a big breath into your belly.
Long exhale out.
Big breath into your belly.
Relaxing the belly.
Remembering any thoughts or judgments or distractions that come up.
You can just write on that balloon,
Watch it float away,
And then come back to my cues.
Relaxing the abdomen.
Relaxing your legs.
Relaxing the lower legs.
Relaxing your feet.
Releasing any tension in your body,
Just asking it to soften a little bit more.
Any distractions that come up,
You write on the balloon and watch float away.
Take the last few moments here to notice any sense of spaciousness or stillness.
Even half a percent,
A little more presence makes a big difference over time.
Relax the jaw.
Relax the forehead.
Relax the mind.
As you go back to your day,
If you find yourself with a full,
Busy mind,
You can come back to this practice of writing the thought on the balloon and letting it go.
Take a deep breath.
And slowly open your eyes on the exhale.
You're ready,
Rested,
Restored,
And all set to get back to your day.
