Hi,
I'm Suzy from Unplugged Meditation and this is a meditation for burnout.
Now I don't know if you've ever experienced burnout,
But I certainly have.
And what causes burnout is when we do,
Do,
Do,
Do,
Do all day long.
We focus,
We watch TV,
We're working,
Working,
Working,
But we never take a break.
Now there's a thing called the ultradian rhythm and what happens is we want to focus for 90 minutes and then take 15 to 20 minute breaks and then work and then break.
What you don't want to do is work,
Work,
Work,
Work,
Work,
Never take a break because that's when you get out of balance.
So this is going to be one break that you can take during the day.
So let's begin by closing our eyes.
So let's begin by taking a long,
Slow,
Deep breath in through the nose and releasing through the mouth.
And now count how long your breath is through your nose and count how many seconds it takes to release it through your mouth.
Now count again and release.
Now silently say to yourself,
I am on the inhale,
Here on the exhale.
We're just going to get present in this moment.
I am on the inhale,
Here in this moment on the exhale.
Say that silently to yourself a few more times,
Dropping your shoulders,
Relaxing your face.
I am on the inhale,
Here in this moment on the exhale.
Slowing down your breath.
There's nothing to do,
Nowhere to be except here right now,
Present with your breath.
Slowing down our breath sends a signal to our brain that everything is okay.
And on the inhale say to yourself,
Everything.
And on the exhale say to yourself,
It's okay.
Everything is okay.
You can't pour from an empty cup.
So let's fill your cup.
What makes me feel relaxed?
What can I do to nourish myself?
I can't pour from an empty cup.
How can I give to myself right now to fill my cup?
Could be just taking the time to breathe and doing this right now,
Or something else.
How can I fill my own cup?
And what would I like to give to the world?
What can I give to others?
And now let's take a long,
Slow,
Deep breath in through the nose.
As deep as it can go and releasing.
And let's do that one more time.
Long,
Slow,
Deep breath in through the nose and releasing.
And open your eyes.
And remember that you can't pour from an empty cup.
So I am happy that you took the time to fill your own.
Have a great day.
