Good morning.

Thank you for being here.

And more importantly,

Thank yourself for being here.

How we choose to begin our day is one of the most important choices we make all day.

And yes,

It is a choice.

Whether we wake up with joy and ease,

Or feelings of dread and overwhelm about the day ahead.

We can choose to enhance that joy,

Or we can begin to remove the feelings of anxiety and overwhelm.

And we do this with our breath.

It really can be that simple.

So thank you again for choosing to be here right now.

Whether you are sitting up or lying down,

Get yourself in a comfy position and let's begin by closing the eyes down.

Begin to find some stillness as you relax your shoulders,

Face,

The area between your brows.

Relax your arms,

Belly,

And legs.

See if you can relax into everything that is part of your experience right now,

Because it is all welcome.

And just breathe here at your natural rhythm.

And as you continue to breathe,

I invite you to let your hands rest on your body,

Letting it feel organic.

Maybe you place your hands on your heart,

On your belly,

On your legs,

And begin to ground even further into the moment so that we can be present to witness the natural,

Cyclical energy of breath.

Now begin to take a long,

Slow inhale through your nose,

Holding it at the top for a moment,

And exhale to let it go.

Let's do that one more time.

Take a deep inhale through your nose,

And really take your time to exhale it all out.

Keep breathing.

Continuing to breathe here,

We're going to invite in the gentle,

Grounding,

And activating breath of Ujjayi.

For this practice we will be inhaling and exhaling through the nose.

So sealing your lips,

Gently begin to rest your tongue on the roof of your mouth,

Unclenching your teeth,

And finding a slight constriction in the back of your throat.

As you inhale and exhale through your nose,

Your breath will create an oceanic sound.

So let's breathe here for a few rounds.

Audible,

Oceanic inhales.

Audible,

Oceanic exhales.

Deep inhales.

Long,

Slow exhales.

As you breathe here,

You are waking up every cell in your body,

Giving yourself the time and space to be part of the magic of stillness and space that you are creating.

Keep breathing.

Returning to your natural breath here,

Take a deep breath in,

Filling the belly all the way up into the heart,

And then take an open mouth exhale to let it all go.

One more deep breath in,

Long,

Slow breath out.

You are welcome to continue breathing here for as long as you'd like.

I hope you have a beautiful day,

And remember that you can always come back to your breath.

It's never too late to breathe a little more life into your day.

Namaste.

Guiding through a few types of breathing and associating the sound of breathing to the ocean does help with grounding.

Good breathwork to help ground. Perhaps a little short for heavy overwhelming days, but a gentle start on the journey to calm. Thank you.

Hi Shelby👋 I was not really familiar with this type of breathing and would’ve appreciated a longer version of this technique. I did however keeep practicing after your meditation ended which resulted in my mind slowing right down and I ended with a smile. Thank you🌷

Thank you so much for this breathing exercise, it wasn’t so aggressive that it made my heart race too much since I’m having some tough days mental health wise and this exercise was gentle enough for me.
