Hello and welcome to this guided meditation on strength and resilience.
Find a quiet,
Peaceful place that is free from distractions.
Come to rest in a position that is most comfortable to you.
This can be seated or lying down,
Whatever offers maximum comfort.
Gently let your eyes fall closed.
Feel the rise and fall of your chest as you inhale and exhale.
Check in with how you are feeling in this moment.
There is no right or wrong way to be feeling,
Just listen.
Let your body fully relax in this space.
Relax your face.
Unclench your jaw.
Relax the muscles in your neck,
Your shoulders,
And your arms.
Unclench your hands and fingers.
Relax your chest,
Your abdomen,
Your hips.
Let your legs fall in whatever way feels right to you as you relax your thighs and calves,
Your feet and toes.
Feel the tension melt away from your body as each muscle relaxes further into the ground beneath you.
Check in with how you are feeling now.
Are you more at peace?
Do you feel more relaxed?
A beautiful ball of warm,
Deep red,
Sparkling light appears in front of you.
This ball of red light signifies strength and resilience.
As you take a big inhale,
Filling your entire body with oxygen,
This ball of strengthening light begins to expand and grow.
As you release this oxygen in a long exhale,
The ball begins to expand.
It shrinks back to its original size.
Taking another deep inhale,
The warm glowing orb begins to grow again.
Did the ball of glowing light get bigger this time?
Exhaling from your head to your toes,
The orb shrinks again.
Inhaling all of the cleansing oxygen into your body,
The ball expands.
Releasing a long exhale,
The orb shrinks again.
Repeat this a few more times.
As you allow your breathing to return to normal,
The ball of warm red light envelops your body like a protective shield,
Giving with it the strength,
Perseverance,
And protection you need to take on any task ahead.
Imagine you are at the base of the most expansive,
Magnificent,
And breathtaking mountain you have ever seen.
This mountain is covered with the carpet of beautiful pine trees,
Scattered with waterfalls and streams,
And lined with snow-capped peaks.
As you begin to walk toward the mountain,
The enormity of its size begins to overwhelm you as you realize you have been tasked with climbing to the top.
How will you ever be able to accomplish the massive job ahead of you?
As you get closer to your mountain,
You begin to see a path.
The path is lined with thick trees,
And the entrance is dark and menacing,
But you have to complete your assignment and make it to the top.
You take a brave step into the unknown forest ahead.
You wonder to yourself,
Do I have what it takes to make it up this enormous mountain?
The path climbs steeply up in front of you.
As you climb farther and farther up the mountain,
Your legs start to burn,
Your lungs gasp for air.
Every fiber of your being is shouting out to stop and turn back.
However,
Instead of turning back,
You dig deep inside yourself and find that fight,
That strength you have always known was there but never dug deep enough to find it.
This journey,
While maybe the hardest thing you have ever done,
Has taught you that what you need isn't outside of yourself,
It's already inside of you.
You have everything you need to take on life's challenges.
You take a much needed moment of rest,
Get a drink,
Sit on a log to relieve your tired legs.
As you take in the beauty around you,
You realize this journey wasn't as difficult as you thought.
It wasn't as daunting as it seemed.
The challenge of the climb,
The fear of the unknown has changed your perspective of your surroundings.
The dark and menacing forest has transformed into a stunning landscape of trees,
Rocks,
Wildflowers,
Birds and forest animals.
With this new perspective and strength,
You begin the last leg of your journey.
As you come out of the tree line,
You see one last stretch of path until you have reached the top.
However,
This section is the steepest and rockiest yet.
This will be the greatest challenge.
You begin to wonder if your newfound strength will be enough.
One shaky foot in front of the other,
You begin the ascent.
Through tears and sweat and tired bones,
You make it to the top.
You have accomplished what you set out to do.
You have climbed that mountain you thought was impossible.
You have completed a journey you thought would break you.
Yet,
You arrived stronger and better than when you started.
You throw your arms up in triumph.
You look out at the vast expanse all around you.
From up here,
You feel as though you can touch the sky.
You can see for miles in all directions and this view is one you will never forget.
You sit and take in all the beauty and accomplishment of the day.
Sit and feel the pride,
Strength and resilience you have found within you.
You have everything you need inside of yourself.
You are strong,
Capable and resilient.
Don't back down from those mountains life puts in your path.
Those mountains are made to strengthen you.
Those mountains are made to give you perspective.
We don't get stronger or more resilient simply by asking to be.
We build strength by overcoming what we thought would break us.
When life's mountains threaten to overcome you,
Remember that warm glowing red flame of strength you have inside of you.
Shield yourself in that light and conquer that mountain.
I believe in you.
