Welcome to this moment of stillness.
Today we practice a gentle meditation to help us let go.
Let go of stress,
Old stories and limiting beliefs or anything that may be holding us back.
Letting go doesn't mean forgetting.
It means loosening our grip,
Creating space for peace,
Clarity and stability.
This meditation helps calm the mind,
Ease the body and bring balance to our inner world.
Find a comfortable position,
Either lying down or sitting upright with your spine tall but relaxed.
Let your hands rest gently on your thighs or by your side.
Allow your eyes to softly close if they haven't already.
Begin by bringing your awareness to your breath.
Take a slow,
Deep breath in through your nose and slowly exhale through your mouth.
Once more,
Breathing in deeply,
Feel your lungs completely and exhale fully.
Release any tension or tightness.
Now,
Allow your breath to settle into its natural rhythm.
Easy,
Calm and soft.
With each breath,
Allow your body to soften.
Let your jaw unclench,
Let your shoulders drop,
Feel your belly rise and fall gently.
You are here,
You are safe.
There is nothing you need to do,
Nowhere you need to be.
Just this breath,
Just this moment.
Now gently scan your body from head to toe.
Notice any tension or tightness you might be holding.
There is no need to change it,
Just be aware.
Whatever you feel,
Welcome it with compassion and patience.
Now gently bring to mind something you are ready to let go of.
It can be an old thought,
A memory,
A fear or a heavy feeling.
Maybe it is something unclear,
Just a sense of weight or stuckness.
Whatever it is,
Allow it to be here in your awareness without trying to fix or change it.
Now imagine this feeling or thought as a leaf in your hand.
It could be dry and brown or fresh and green,
Shaped by your experience.
Hold this leaf gently.
Acknowledge what it represents.
Now picture yourself standing beside a peaceful flowing river.
You are barefoot,
Grounded.
Feel soft ground beneath you.
The water sparkles in the light.
Birds sing nearby.
You feel calm and grounded.
As you hold your leaf,
Step closer to the river.
Take a deep breath in,
And on your exhale,
Gently place the leaf on the water.
Watch it begin to float,
Slowly,
Gracefully,
Carried by the current.
With every breath,
It drifts further from you,
Lighter and smaller,
Until it disappears.
You feel lighter.
Something has shifted.
You have let go.
Now bring to mind anything else you'd like to release.
Each time,
Imagine it as another leaf.
Hold it for a moment,
And then release it into the river.
Watch them all float away.
Grief.
Fear.
Doubt.
Sadness.
One leaf at a time.
Let the river carry them far from you.
Feel the space that remains.
Breathe into the openness.
Feel it with light,
Warmness,
And kindness.
Repeat softly to yourself in your heart,
I release what no longer serves me.
I trust the flow of life.
I am light.
I am free.
Stay with this sense of peace for a few more moments.
Let the silence hold you.
Let the breath continue to wash over you gently.
Now,
Begin to return to your body.
Feel the support beneath you.
Wiggle your fingers and toes.
Bring small movements back.
Take a deep breath in,
And a long exhale.
Take a deep and soft breath out.
When you feel ready,
Gently open your eyes.
Carry this sense of lightness with you into your day.
Thank you for sharing this sacred time together.
May peace and freedom follow you.
Namaste.
