Hello everyone,
My name is Peggy Koukassian and I am a Somatic Practitioner.
Today we will be doing a Somatic Reset for Financial Stress.
So let's go ahead and take some time together to step into a comfortable seated position,
Or if lying down feels better,
And start to position yourself,
Grounding yourself,
Grounding your feet onto the floor,
Letting the hands rest gently on your thighs,
Knees,
Or belly,
And just start to breathe into the weight of your body,
Noticing the points where you are fully supported by the chair,
The floor,
Or your mat,
The places that you are held and supported.
Feel and breathe into that part.
Take a big,
Slow inhale through the nose,
And a long,
Soft exhale through the mouth as you drop your jaw.
Soften your shoulders,
And let your belly expand and contrast with ease.
Now bring one hand to your chest and the other to your belly,
And just again continue to feel the gentleness of the rise and fall of your breath underneath your hands,
As you really feel your own internal support.
Let this connection remind you that your body is always here to hold you,
And take a moment to notice any areas of tension.
Slowly scan through the body.
Maybe there's a tightness in the shoulders,
A heaviness in the chest,
Maybe the jaw is clenched and we don't even notice it sometimes,
Or maybe there's a fluttering energy moving through the stomach.
And we're just going to begin with allowing the awareness to land softly on each area without judgment.
And we're going to start inviting in this imagination around creating a container within the body.
So imagine creating a container in your body,
And that container is safe,
Steady space that you can hold anything that is arising,
Especially around your finances,
The feeling of worry and tension and overwhelm.
If you can feel a warm light drawing in that warm light into your chest,
Maybe feeling that solid ball of support in your belly,
Or a soft opening along your spine,
And really tapping into this inner refuge that lives within you,
This portal that you get to access.
On your inhale,
Feel the container expanding slightly,
Creating space for the emotions and worries that you carry.
And on your next exhale,
Allow a gentle release,
Like a wave flowing out through your shoulders,
Through your jaw,
And out your hands.
Just go ahead and do that one more time.
As you inhale in,
Feel the container expanding,
Creating more space for what it is that you're feeling,
Allowing space for your emotions and the worry that is real for you right now.
And then use the body as a way to release through that exhale,
Gently releasing like that wave of flowing energy in through those areas that you are holding tension,
Your shoulders,
Your jaw,
Your hands.
And with that last exhale,
Now we're going to go into a grounding.
And wherever your feet are,
Making sure that your feet are planted flat onto the ground.
Now I want you to feel your feet pressing onto the floor,
Feeling heavy and rooted and stable.
And imagine drawing support up from the earth and into your legs,
Through your pelvis and into your core.
With every inhale,
You're bringing in more grounded energy,
More rooted energy,
And with every exhale,
Releasing tension into the earth beneath you.
And so this feels like a very regenerative process.
We're giving back to Mother Nature and the earth,
Aspects of us that are not serving us in this moment.
So we're releasing it.
Next,
I want you to bring the awareness into the rhythm of your spine and lengthen gently on the next inhale through that spine.
And then soften the body on the exhale with that focus on your spine,
Becoming a bridge between your body and the present moment,
Anchored,
Yet it's open.
And as we're moving through this rhythm,
I'm just inviting in a little bit of Reiki energy into the space as I am navigating you on this beautiful restorative journey back to wholeness.
And just notice right now,
If any thoughts are there for you around your deadlines or financial stresses,
Notice them without judgment,
Create some space away from that thought and maybe look at it more from an observer perspective.
And here we can say,
I see you,
But I am safe in my body.
And then return the attention back to your breath,
Your container.
And now the layer of grounding through your feet and all these different somatic elements help renew the body,
Come back into stability and resourcefulness inside.
Now,
As we integrate a subtle movement to really draw everything together,
On the next inhale,
Lift your shoulders slightly.
And with the exhale,
Let them drop with awareness.
Roll your wrists,
Flex your toes,
And maybe just gently sway if your body feels naturally inclined to do so.
These micro-movements help really store tension while reinforcing safety and presence.
Take a few more cycles here,
Anchoring,
Containing,
Breathing,
Releasing,
Micro-moving.
Just letting your nervous system learn that worry can exist without the overwhelmed part.
And so when we realize we can hold two very contrasting experiences in our body,
We get to bring it back into balance and also honor the parts that are showing up for us to regulate.
And that is part of our inner work to become more resourceful.
So finally,
We're going to bring both the hands to your heart now.
And just feel the warmth,
Feel the support of the hands onto your body,
The steadiness.
And from that connection,
From your hands to your body,
I want you to just take these words and remind yourself softly,
I am safe.
I am grounded.
And I have what I need in this moment.
Just take a few seconds to feel your sensations.
And one final deep inhale through the nose.
And with this next exhale,
I want you to fully let it out of the mouth with maybe some sound or a sigh.
And as we close this journey together,
And when you're ready,
Gently open your eyes and flutter the eyelashes.
And I hope you can carry this calm and grounded energy with you throughout the rest of your day and into your sleep.
Have a blessed day.
Namaste.
Thank you.
