Hello everyone,

My name is Peggy Gokasian and I will be your somatic guide for the day.

Today we'll be practicing a skin to soul somatic practice that helps us awaken the senses and our sensory system of our body when it's so incredibly easy to disconnect from the emotional parts and sensitive parts of ourselves.

So today we're going to do a really simple skin activation where we are bringing awareness and awakening to the skin element of our body.

So let's start with a seated position.

Start to make yourself cozy and comfortable.

Maybe bring a pillow behind your back,

Below your knees.

The practice is a very soft and delicate touch from your fingertips.

So we will begin by starting to take the gaze inward and start to internally connect with the body.

Knees,

Take your hands and place them above your knees with your palms facing the sky.

Let's begin to increase those inhales and exhales to at least five counts.

And you are welcome and invited into making any sounds or sighs,

And again,

Anything that allows your body to open.

The somatic experience is very sensual,

It's very intuitive.

So my invitation to you is if the hips want to roll and sway,

I invite you into listening to your body's wisdom.

There's no one way in this practice.

So we're going to start with continuing the breath inward and out through our nose and elongating that breath and starting to take your hands and arms midway up to your body like you're holding up a tray.

So take your right hand and start to trace your hands and your fingers,

And you can start to close your eyes after you started tracing your fingers.

So start to trace up and down while your hands and fingertips touch,

And if you can go slow and steady as you feel bit by bit of your body,

Trace it up your arm,

Over your shoulder.

And at this point,

If you want to let it come above your shoulder,

Start to trace that finger across the shoulder,

Maybe down the chest.

You can use all your fingers or one finger.

This is the intuitive part that I mentioned.

So continue to breathe and allow your touch of your hands to connect to your senses,

To maybe parts of your body that you've neglected,

You personally haven't really touched.

Move that hand down the legs,

Down the thighs.

And again,

No particular motion.

You can make designs,

You can make circles.

And when you end at your knee,

You can go ahead and switch your hand.

Take that opposite hand and start to trace the fingertips.

And sometimes we will notice when we are working with the right side of the body or the left side,

Which one feels a little more connected.

Our right side of the brain actually operates the left part of our body.

And just notice maybe one side is a little more connected to the senses.

Maybe there is a little bit more reaction.

I personally notice my right side is a little bit more tender,

A little more shy.

I can really feel my senses reacting quicker.

So as we continue to do the practices within the modalities of my work,

A lot of these practices and rituals can be collaborated.

So start to trace that hand down the chest,

Down the belly.

And again,

Listening to the deep wisdom.

This is your intimate moment with yourself.

Continue to touch your skin.

Move with the sounds.

Let yourself feel embodied with the experience.

What does it feel like to go all in?

What does it feel like to be 100% present for yourself?

And as you continue doing,

Finish both sides.

Go ahead and place your hands back on your knees.

And let's face those palms down.

Grounding back into our bodies.

Have a beautiful blessed day.

Namaste.
