A meditation for the days that feel heavy — when emotion sits in the chest, when life feels overwhelming, when the heart is soaked through. This practice is a gentle space to soften, to feel, and to release. We’ll let the rain be our guide — cleansing, loosening, washing away the weight you’ve been carrying. You don’t have to be strong right now. You don’t have to have answers. You’re allowed to simply breathe and be held. Perfect for emotional release, overwhelm, seasonal heaviness, grief, anxiety, or any moment you need to return gently to yourself.

Welcome,

Darling,

As we arrive here together on this cold,

Rainy November day.

Everything feels a little soaked,

A little heavy,

Like the world,

And maybe your heart,

Has been drenched.

If you're feeling full,

Overwhelmed,

Or emotional,

You're not wrong for that.

You're not dramatic.

You're human.

So go ahead and find a comfortable position,

Seated or lying down.

Let your body settle.

Let the ground or bed or chair hold your weight.

Gently close your eyes or soften your gaze toward the floor,

And take a slow breath in through your nose and exhale softly through your mouth.

Again,

In.

Let your shoulders soften.

Let your jaw release.

And let your belly loosen.

You've been carrying a lot,

More than most people know.

More than you let yourself say out loud.

Right now in this space,

You do not have to hold it.

Now imagine the rain.

Maybe it's the rain outside.

Maybe it's rain from memory.

Maybe it's rain you're feeling inside of you.

Steady.

Falling without effort and without apology.

The sky never asks permission to release,

And neither do you.

Feel how the rain meets your body,

Not literally,

But energetically.

Energetically.

The way life washes over you.

The way emotion can soak into the bones.

The way heaviness can feel like being drenched.

Saturated.

Weighted.

If your chest feels tight,

Place one hand over your heart and feel your own warmth.

You don't have to fight your feelings here.

You don't have to push them away.

You don't have to pretend.

Just breathe.

And gently,

Just breathe.

Let the rain hold you,

Not drown you.

Loosen and soften what has been gripping on the inside.

The rain is not here to overwhelm you.

It is here to cleanse.

Like watercolor on paper,

The color lightens when water touches it.

It softens the edges and blurs the lines.

Nothing disappears,

But everything shifts.

So let that happen here.

Let something loosen.

You don't have to name what is leaving.

You don't have to know why you feel what you feel.

Your only job is to let the rain move through you.

Notice how you feel in this moment.

Does it feel even a little lighter?

A little clearer?

A little more you?

Maybe part of you feels rinsed,

Softened or renewed.

Now listen.

Does the rain sound different now than from what it did?

Something has shifted.

Take a slow breath in through your nose.

And let it fall slowly out through your mouth.

You did something here.

You let something move.

You let something go.

You allowed a release.

Now I'll offer some words.

So feel free to repeat them out loud or in your mind.

I'm allowed to feel even when it's heavy.

I'm allowed to release even when I feel weighed down.

I'm allowed to soften even when it feels hard.

Take a slow breath in.

And a slow release out.

Let those words settle.

Let them be true.

My darling,

The rain never asked permission to fall.

And you never have to ask permission to be still and feel.

Ready?

Begin to return gently into your space.

Take a deep breath in.

And exhale softly.

Wiggle your fingers and your toes.

And sway your legs side to side.

Stretch your arms overhead.

Let your eyes open slowly.

Not to the noise of the world,

But to this soft moment.

Wash clean in the quiet of the cold November rain.

Rest here.

And carry the softness with you.
