Tis the season my darling.
Embracing the holidays can be challenging for some.
While holidays are often depicted as a heartwarming time spent with loved ones,
The reality may not always be as picture-perfect.
Therefore this meditation is dedicated to those who are experiencing hardship.
When you are ready,
Find a comfortable position whether that's lying down or sitting up or maybe cuddling by the fireplace with your cozy blanket.
Gently close your eyes or find a soft gaze if you feel at ease.
Focus on your breath and let's aim to slow it down.
Disregarding the rush and the chaos that typically accompanies this time of year.
If you can,
Simply visualize the snowflakes gracefully descending from the sky.
Take a slow breath in as you observe the falling snowflakes.
Exhale gently.
I want you to know that you are not alone in your feelings.
Many others feel isolated in this season.
Whether it's due to financial stress,
An obligation to be with loved ones we dislike,
Or our grieving loved ones we've lost.
The pressure to have a good time is overwhelming.
Factors such as physical separation from loved ones,
Recent heartbreak,
Or being distant from the people you want to celebrate with can intensify the already overwhelming emotions.
Let's draw a breath in and let go of those overpowering emotions.
Slow breath in,
Gentle exhale out.
Even if you don't feel it,
Remember that you are loved and supported.
If it feels safe,
Place your hand over your heart for a moment.
Everyone participating in this meditation is thinking of you and caring for you.
Sometimes when our own light fades,
It can be reunited by the light of others.
Let's inhale the warmth of this light brings and let it fill you.
Exhaling out any burden.
Ruth Carter Stapleton writes,
Christmas is most truly Christmas when we celebrate it by giving the light of love to those who need it most.
In what ways do your holidays differ this year?
Allow yourself the joy of being unique even when everyone else is striving to conform.
How can you show compassion to yourself during this time?
Breathe in that message and give yourself permission to be like the Grinch and remember that his heart grew three sizes in the end.
Find solace in the fact that I am sending you love and understand that it is completely fine if you do not feel like participating in holiday festivities.
Consider re-evaluating how you interpret the concept of celebration.
It's possible that both your body and mind would benefit from celebrating the season by embracing relaxation and tranquility.
Take this opportunity to celebrate yourself by reducing the weight of your commitments and embracing the beauty of solitude.
Therefore let's take one final deep breath and release any remaining burdens.
Now let's awaken ourselves by stretching just like a snow angel in the falling snow and open your eyes to appreciate it.
