Hi there my darlings,

As the days grow colder and the nights stretch longer,

It's easy to feel the weight of the season pressing in.

Maybe like me,

You've dreamed of retreating into a cozy cave like a bear or packing up for a sunny escape.

But here we are,

Braving winter together,

Finding ways to embrace its quiet and stillness.

If you're feeling the seasonal slump creeping in,

Know that you are not alone.

Let's take the time to connect,

Breathe,

And find a little light in the dark.

Find your spot,

Whether you're curled up on the couch or stretched out under a blanket.

There's no right or wrong way to do this,

Just settle in and if you feel called,

Close your eyes.

Now let's take a deep breath together,

Inhale through your nose,

And exhale out through your mouth.

Inhale through your nose,

Letting your belly expand like you're breathing in the coziest warmth,

And exhale fully like you're letting go of that winter gloom that's been hanging around you.

As you continue to breathe,

Breathe freely.

Now picture this,

Inside you there's a tiny flicker of light,

Maybe it's no bigger than a candle flame right now,

But it's steady,

Warm,

And yours.

With each breath in,

Imagine that light growing brighter,

Spreading its warmth through your chest and arms,

Legs,

Right down to your toes.

With each breath out,

Feel the cold,

The stress,

The heaviness melting away.

That little flame is your reminder that no matter how dark it gets outside,

You've got light within you.

Here's the thing,

Darling,

You don't have to fight the winter or pretend,

It doesn't bother you.

It's okay to feel a little off,

A little tired,

A little over it,

But this season isn't here to break you.

It's here to slow you down,

To give you time to rest and reset.

Let's affirm that by repeating these affirmations.

Feel free to say them out loud or to yourself.

I don't have to carry it all,

Resting is enough.

Even in the dark,

I am.

This season is part of my journey,

Not the whole story.

Breathe those words in and let them sit with you for a moment.

When you're ready,

Bring awareness back to your surroundings.

Wiggle your fingers and your toes,

Feeling warmth and light in every movement.

Take one last deep breath in through your nose,

Letting it out slowly through the mouth.

When you're ready to open your eyes,

Notice how you feel.

Maybe a little lighter,

Maybe just a little more okay than before,

And that's enough.

I'll leave you with this reminder,

My darling.

Winter doesn't last forever.

Your light that's here for good.

With all my love and a little not-so-darling grit,

Until next time.

Great meditation. Exactly what I needed to hear as I began my day with feelings of anxiety. I will listen to again. Maybe even today!
