Welcome to your meditation practice today.
Find a comfortable position,
Sitting or lying down.
Allowing your body to settle into stillness.
Take a deep breath.
Inhaling through your nose and exhaling through your mouth.
Take another deep breath.
Inhaling through your nose and exhaling through your mouth.
Take one more deep breath.
Inhale through your nose and exhale through your mouth.
Let your shoulders drop.
Your jaw relax.
Your hands rest easily.
Bring your awareness to the present moment.
To this space,
To this time you are giving yourself.
Today you are invited to walk a labyrinth.
Not with your feet on stone or grass.
But with your mind.
With your heart.
With your whole being.
Labyrinths have been walked for thousands of years.
Across cultures and continents.
From ancient Greece to medieval cathedrals.
From Native American traditions to modern healing gardens.
The labyrinth is not a maze.
It has no dead ends,
No tricks.
It is one continuous path winding inward and then outward again.
For me,
The labyrinth represents something sacred.
It is a place where the outside world falls behind.
Where I can let go of what I am carrying.
And arrive at a center that has always been waiting for me.
Now bring your attention inward.
Ask yourself gently.
What is it that I want to let go of today?
It might be worry,
Or grief,
Or anger,
Or fear,
Or something harder to name.
There is no rush to find the right words.
Just notice what wants to be released.
Hold this intention lightly in your awareness.
You'll have a chance to work with it soon.
Now imagine yourself standing at the entrance of a labyrinth.
It sits on a mountainside,
Perhaps in a quiet valley.
The path is worn smooth by those who have walked before.
Look at the entrance.
It's wide enough for you to step through.
Take a breath and step forward.
Feel your foot touch the ground,
Solid,
Steady.
As you begin to walk.
Notice how the world behind you starts to fade.
The noise,
The demands,
The rush of ordinary life,
It all falls away.
You are following a path.
One way in,
One way out.
There's nowhere else to go.
Nothing else to do.
Just walk.
Continue walking slowly.
Feel each step.
Notice the ground beneath your feet.
Is it cool?
Is it warm?
Maybe it's soft or firm.
Feel your body moving,
Your arms swinging naturally.
Your breath flowing.
The path winds around,
Circling.
Sometimes it brings you closer to the center.
Then it curves away.
This is part of the journey.
It may look like you're almost there,
But you are not quite at the center yet.
Trust the path.
It knows where it's going.
Notice what arises as you walk.
Thoughts,
Sensations,
Memories.
Let them pass through you like clouds in the sky.
What do you notice about this place?
The light,
The air,
The sounds around you.
And now you feel it.
The center is near.
Take another step.
And another.
You have arrived.
The center is open,
Peaceful,
Protected by the path that brought you here.
Stand here for a moment.
Just breathe.
Feel the stillness,
The safety,
The quiet.
This is a sacred space.
You are held here.
Now bring to mind what you set as your intention earlier.
That thing you want to let go of.
Visualize it however it appears to you.
A weight.
A color.
A shape.
Feeling.
And now physically or mentally place it at the center.
Leave it here.
You don't need to carry it anymore.
Some people imagine setting it down on the ground.
Others imagine releasing it into the air.
Whatever feels right for you.
Stay here for a moment,
Knowing that what you've left behind is safe here,
And you are free.
Now it's time to turn around.
Begin walking back on the same path you came in on.
But notice,
Something has changed.
The path is the same,
But you are different.
Feel your feet touching the ground.
Each step,
Deliberate,
Aware.
As you walk,
Notice how it feels to move without that weight you left behind.
Do you feel lighter?
More free?
More open.
The path continues to wind.
Concentric circles,
Not a straight line.
This is like life.
We don't move in straight lines.
We circle.
We return to places.
But we're never exactly the same.
Flow with the labyrinth,
Just as we flow through life.
Sometimes we move closer to what we want.
Sometimes we move away,
But we keep walking.
You are approaching the exit now.
It may look like you are at the end,
But the path curves one more time.
This is the final turn.
Trust it.
And now you reach the opening.
Pause here before stepping out.
Take a moment to notice how you feel.
Where are your feet?
What do you notice in your body?
Is there a sense of peace?
Clarity of a new direction.
Step out of the labyrinth and take a deep breath.
Be grateful for this experience,
For the time you gave yourself.
For the courage to let go.
Express gratitude for the labyrinth.
Express gratitude for yourself.
Feel your body where it rests.
The surface beneath you,
The air around you.
Take a deep breath.
And another.
Know that you can return to this labyrinth whenever you need.
The path is always there.
The center is always waiting.
Carry this peace with you as you move through your day.
When you are ready,
Wiggle your fingers and toes,
And then slowly open your eyes.
Take a moment to notice how you feel.
Thank you for sharing your meditation practice with me today.
Wishing you love,
Light,
And peace.
Namaste.
