One of the more helpful concepts I've learned is "Unconditional Acceptance." I used to have lots of conditional acceptance in my life. I was always "keeping score" of all the things I was doing for others - and of all the things people were not doing for me. When I was finally able to look beyond my immediate reflections - and consider broader perspectives - I was finally able to overcome my addictions and manage my mental health without pharmaceuticals.
