You probably told yourself you just need to push harder.
More discipline.
More drive.
Get up earlier.
Do more.
And maybe that worked for a while.
But right now,
It's not working.
And that's not a weakness.
That's information.
So instead of trying to force something today,
Let's slow down for a moment.
And actually look at what's going on underneath.
Find a comfortable position.
Sitting is fine.
Lying down is fine.
Close your eyes if that feels okay.
Take one slow breath in through your nose.
And let it out through your mouth.
Don't try to breathe perfectly.
Just let it be natural.
Notice the weight of your body right now.
Where it meets the chair,
The floor,
Whatever's supporting you.
Take another slow breath.
And with each exhale,
Let your shoulders drop a little.
And let your jaw soften.
I want you to check in with where you actually are right now.
Not where you think you should be.
Where you actually are.
Is there tiredness?
Heaviness somewhere?
Maybe a low-level tension you've been carrying around.
Just notice it.
You don't need to explain it yet.
Where in your body are you holding the most tension right now?
Stay with that area for a moment.
Breathe into it.
Not to fix it.
Just to acknowledge it.
Good.
That's all we're doing right now.
Just noticing.
A lot of men carry this belief,
Sometimes without realizing it,
That they only deserve to rest once they've earned it.
That stillness means they're falling behind.
That if they're not pushing,
They're failing.
And so they reach for motivation.
They try to force themselves forward.
And when it doesn't come,
They judge themselves for it.
So what have you been telling yourself about where you should be by now?
Just let that question sit for a moment.
Sometimes the lack of motivation isn't laziness.
It's exhaustion from running a race you never fully agreed to enter.
So what if motivation isn't something you need to find?
What if it comes back naturally,
When you stop fighting your own need to slow down?
Think about something small.
One thing.
Just one.
That actually matters to you.
Not what should matter.
What does.
What's one thing you've been putting off?
Not because you don't care about it.
But because it feels too big to start.
Hold that for a moment.
Pause.
Now.
What's the smallest possible version of that thing you could do today?
Not everything.
Just the entry point.
That's where momentum actually starts.
Not from forcing.
From lowering the bar to something honest.
Take a breath with that.
You don't need to figure everything out today.
You don't need to feel motivated right now.
What you did here.
Slowing down.
Paying attention.
Being honest.
That's not nothing.
That's actually the hardest part for most men.
Carry that steadiness with you today.
Not pressure.
Just awareness.
And when you're ready,
Gently open your eyes.
And remember,
This is deep work.
The kind that reshapes how you move through the world.
If something in you feels ready to explore further,
Reach out.
I'd be honoured to witness your being and your becoming.
