This meditation guides you into the space between stimulus and response, with a mindful pause. When you slow down, you begin to notice your inner reactions without immediately acting on them. Through breath awareness and reflection, you'll strengthen your ability to respond with clarity instead of reacting from habit or stress. This practice cultivates presence, self-regulation, and a sense of grounding.

Today is about something beautifully simple and incredibly powerful,

The pause.

When we learn to pause,

Even for a breath,

We begin to reclaim our presence.

We interrupt the autopilot mode and come back to choice.

Whether it's before reacting,

Replying,

Rushing,

Or scrolling,

The pause is where your power lies.

Let yourself settle into your seat,

Take a few deep breaths,

Noticing how your body feels right now,

And let the exhale be a soft release.

Now bring to mind a moment from today or yesterday where you reacted quickly,

No judgment,

Just noticing.

And what might have shifted if you had paused.

Let's practice pausing together now.

We'll do a simple breath pattern to slow everything down.

We will inhale for four,

We'll hold for four,

We will exhale for four,

And pause for four.

Let's do that together now.

As we inhale,

Two,

Three,

Four,

Hold,

Two,

Three,

Four,

Exhale,

Two,

Three,

Four,

Pause,

Two,

Three,

Four.

Inhale,

Two,

Three,

Four,

Hold,

Two,

Three,

Four,

Exhale,

Two,

Three,

Four,

Pause.

Let's do it one more time.

Inhale,

Two,

Three,

Four,

Hold,

Two,

Three,

Four,

Exhale,

Two,

Three,

Four,

Pause,

Two,

Three,

Four.

This rhythm builds your pause muscle.

This is your reset button.

You can come back to this anytime.

Before sending the email,

Before replying to a text,

Before you speak,

Before you judge yourself.

One breath,

One pause,

That's enough.

Today,

See if you can notice just one moment when you pause,

Catch yourself,

Breathe,

And continue with a greater present.

As we close,

Bring your hand to your heart again.

Let the rhythm of your breath ground you,

Just the natural rhythm.

The pause is here,

Always.

You just have to choose it.

When you're ready,

Wiggle your fingers and your toes and come back to the space they are in.

Your eyes are closed,

Open them up with a soft gaze and carry this presence into your day.

Thank you for joining me.

Sending love.
