Welcome everyone.
This is a simple and short meditation to mark the start of your women's circle or sacred gathering and to invite a settling and a dropping into the space and the work.
Just take a moment to get comfortable.
And then I invite you,
If it feels right,
To either close your eyes or lower your gaze and soften your focus.
This can help us tune in a little better with what's going on inside.
And you may find you naturally like to take a couple of deeper breaths in your own time,
Making the out-breaths slow and long.
You might want to let out a sigh or a yawn as you release tension.
Feel free to make a noise when you do this.
Lean into it for your own comfort and relax those shoulders down if you haven't already.
We're stepping into our sacred time now.
In making time to be here,
This is a gift we've given ourselves.
And so it makes sense to place down the day we've been in so far,
The experiences we've been having as we work towards getting here,
The journey here and our arrival,
Whatever that looked like or felt like for you.
You may have been caught up in domestic tasks so far in your day.
Or there may have been a mental workload,
Roles that you've played,
Responsibilities that you've needed to attend to.
But it's time to place them down.
You can imagine laying them down on the ground around you.
Or placing them like a pebble just outside the door or space where you can pick them back up if you choose to at the end.
This will help you be more fully present and to bring a deeper part of yourself.
And as we sit here just landing,
Allow your nervous system to listen in to the other nervous systems around it.
Can you feel the vibration of energy from the person you're next to?
Can you feel the other nervous systems in the space?
What noises can you hear?
What noises can you hear?
Allow your system to just explore where they are so that they can befriend or refriend the space.
Can you get any energetic sense of your own nervous system right now?
It can feel for some people like a snow globe that's been shaken and then starts to settle.
For me it has this swirling,
Sparkly,
Sometimes prickly energy that I feel in my chest area.
It might feel bright and fizzy to you or it may feel completely different.
It might be a colour or a temperature.
Just notice what you notice.
And then,
What's behind your eyes?
I often without noticing have stress,
Tension,
Tiredness or excitement or a grounded feeling behind my eyes.
And what energy is around your head right now?
What words are unspoken in your throat?
And what emotions lie in your heart?
Your chest?
In the depths of your stomach or guts?
What gut instincts does your body wish to convey to you?
What sensations are there?
We're just going to take a minute because it can require a bit of settling,
A bit of stillness to feel into this.
Quite often we've trained ourselves as part of our coping strategies to hover above our bodily sensations and emotions.
And when we do that we can feel that there's nothing there,
That we're a bit numb.
But you can reassure your mind here that we're simply dipping in to see what's there because it can be great information.
When you allow yourself to drop,
To let go for a moment,
You can suddenly feel the tiredness you weren't aware of,
The sadness you've been blotting out,
The calmness or love that you didn't know you were experiencing.
Okay,
So whatever you felt in your bodies is great information,
A starting point when it comes to the check-in.
That's what you're presenting with right now,
In this moment.
That's your top card.
And it may not feel as interesting or dramatic as something you experienced in the week or yesterday or this morning,
But it's the truth of now and that's where we need to start.
And if you haven't been able to sense anything,
Maybe you can bring that to your check-in.
What's it telling you?
And then just before we finish,
Can you get a sense of your longings today,
Your needs,
Your deeper desires for how you'd like to spend this time?
What is your body telling you it wants?
It might be rest,
Comfort,
Loving or healing touch.
It might be a ritual to mark the beginning or end of something.
The time to create some intentions,
To get clarity on something.
You might desire validation,
To have your feelings be witnessed and mirrored back to you,
To be honoured.
It might be that you wish to be known through narrating an experience you're still processing,
To connect with your sovereign self,
Your soul self,
To connect with your inner self.
To connect with your sovereign self,
Your soul self,
To perform a clearing with someone in the circle,
To practice some clean talk,
To practice self-love.
You might want to hold hands and connect with each other through song,
Or long to look deeply into another's eyes,
Or to craft something,
To align with seasonal energy.
Or it may be something else.
But I invite you to be clear in your heart about what it is you want and need,
And to ask for it,
Lightly,
In the knowledge that it may or may not be possible to deliver it,
And that's okay too.
The really important part is that you know what it is,
And you give yourself permission to ask.
And now it's time to make a start.
It's time to do what you came to do.
So feel your feet on the floor,
Or curled up beneath you.
Give them a little wiggle.
Give them a squeeze.
You can squeeze your arms,
And if you like,
Give yourself a big hug,
As you flutter your eyes open if they're not already.
And bring the room back in.
Here are your sisters.
