Hi there and welcome to this gentle breathing practice.
Today we're going to blend affirmations with cues of safety and our breath to set you up for whatever comes next in your day.
Maybe there's something that's causing you a little worry or anxiety,
Or something that matters to you.
Let's take a few minutes to anchor our body with cues of safety,
So taking a moment to support your body in whatever position feels good to you,
Allowing a little bit of relaxation,
Softening,
Maybe dropping your shoulders,
Relaxing your face,
Closing your eyes if it is safe and comfortable to do so,
And starting to allow ourselves to breathe,
One breath at a time,
Allowing ourselves to pause just for a moment,
This is your time,
When nothing is expected of you.
For each of these affirmations,
Breathing in and out while you say it to yourself,
Silently or out loud,
And while you breathe in and out,
You may wish to place a hand over your heart,
Giving yourself that strong sense of safety,
Or maybe holding something in your hand if that is more comfortable to you.
I am safe in this moment,
Breathing in and out,
I feel the ground beneath me,
Steady and sure,
I'm feeling your feet beneath you,
My breath slow and that's enough,
Each inhale brings comfort,
Breathing that in,
Each exhale releases what I no longer need,
Allow yourself to breathe that out,
There is no rush,
I am unhurried,
My body knows how to find calm,
I am strong and capable,
I trust in my body's ability to heal,
I am held by this moment,
I am supported even when I feel alone,
I can handle whatever comes,
And let's take a moment to visualise whatever it is that comes next in your day,
Take yourself there and imagine it going in the way that you want it to go,
What if it goes well,
What does that feel like,
What sensations do you feel in your body,
What emotions do you feel,
Taking yourself to that place where it has already happened,
Breathing,
Feeling,
And knowing that this is somewhere you can come back to whenever you need to,
Let's take one more breath and then gently come back into your space and continuing on your day,
Thank you so much for breathing with me today,
You've got this.
