Hello and welcome to this breathing meditation.
Today we're going to find some safety in our body,
In our breath,
In our mind.
So I invite you to find a position that feels comfortable to you.
Maybe lying down,
Maybe finding some cushions and blankets,
Or if you're seated,
Finding yourself maybe some back support,
Grounding your feet and allowing yourself to be as comfortable as you can be in this moment.
And let's start off by taking a breath in through the nose and letting it go,
And let's do that again.
So in through the nose,
And as you exhale,
Maybe feeling your body softening just a little.
Letting go of anything that doesn't serve you in this moment,
Maybe tightness,
Tension,
Maybe thoughts,
Feelings,
Expectations,
Or even just hit pause on them for now,
But take yourself to a place where you felt safe.
So it might be somewhere in nature,
A location in your house,
Or somewhere where you've been in the past.
Can you remember that time when you felt safe?
What does it feel like in your body?
Can you really take yourself there?
What do you see?
Noticing those things,
Naming them in your mind,
Observing.
What do you hear?
Really hearing,
Really feel that sense of sound through your body.
What do you taste or smell?
What do you taste in the air as you take in a breath?
What do you smell as you take in that breath?
What are you sitting or lying on?
Reach out your hand.
What is that sensation?
What does that feel like on your fingers,
On your hand?
Maybe you feel your head resting against something.
Is it hard or soft?
Do you feel supported?
Do you feel light?
What do you sense around you?
Do you notice any feelings or emotions coming up?
As you visualize yourself in this space,
This safe place,
This place that nourishes you,
That heals you,
That supports you.
This place where you can be you.
You can just be.
As you imagine yourself in this place.
And if you do find any emotions coming up,
Allow yourself to feel them if you can.
Notice those sensations in your body.
Allowing yourself permission to let anything come up.
This is your safe place.
Just for you.
Tuning into our senses over and over.
What do you see?
What do you smell?
What do you taste?
What do you hear?
Allowing your body,
At its own pace,
To feel the safety of this place.
I am safe.
I am safe here.
I am supported.
I am allowed to be me.
I trust my body.
Saying any other affirmations that come up for you.
I am safe.
I am healing.
I am safe to be me.
And as we breathe in.
Breathing in the smell.
Any tension,
Any stress.
Noticing our body.
Noticing our breath.
And allowing ourselves,
Coming back to those senses.
What can you smell?
How does that feel?
Squishy?
Has it got a texture?
And each time we go through our senses.
You may find you notice something else.
Something new to see.
A new sound.
Something different to touch.
And allowing ourselves,
At our own pace,
To soften.
With no expectations.
No judgement.
Going through those senses again.
What can you see?
What can you smell or taste?
What can you feel?
I am safe here.
I am safe.
You can take one hand and place it softly on your chest if that's comfortable.
