Okay.
Taking a deep breath and getting comfortable.
Finding yourself seated.
And today we take a moment to really find our center.
As you're seated,
I want you to move to your right sit bone and then to your left,
And you're wobbling side to side,
And I want you to find the center.
Just keep shifting until you find the center point.
In which you don't have to try so hard,
You're just in balance.
Leaning forward and backward,
Forward and backward.
Until you find this center.
Identifying a space in which your vertebrae.
Are balanced on top of each other.
They're stacked in such a way that the muscles don't have to hold you up.
Because the bones are balancing.
Your chin is slightly tucked.
Your neck is elongated.
Crown of your head.
Is reaching up into the sky.
As though there's a string at your crown.
Holding you up.
And every inhaling breath is bringing you more present into this body.
More aware of this body.
What do I feel?
In this moment.
Can we notice those thoughts that are.
.
.
Flitting through your mind.
I forgot to write that email earlier.
What am I going to say to my boss later?
It's all of these to-do lists.
And all of the planning.
Spinning around in your head.
And we just welcome it.
To float away.
If these thoughts are really stuck,
Maybe you spin them around in your head.
Spin,
Spin,
Spin like a vortex and pop them out the top and just let them float away.
Watching your thoughts dissipate in the sky like a cloud.
And then you have the thoughts that are judgmental,
That are comparisons.
Thinking about the past.
All the things that happened.
And they're taking up a lot of space in your head.
In your head,
You find these filing cabinets.
So many.
Wall-to-wall filing cabinets and when you open a drawer it's filled with file folders,
Like what?
My mom said to me when I was four.
And in that same folder is what my best friend said to me when I was eight.
And what happened to me when I was 16.
What my partner said to me when I was 22.
And they all are in the same folder because they have that same feeling of belonging.
Self-doubt,
Or not good enough,
Or have to try harder.
And you close the drawer and find that there's another filing cabinet.
And another and another.
When we look around inside of your head at all of these thoughts.
They're just asking to be filed.
Get a new piece of information.
To go.
A new relationship,
A new life.
Event.
And it swirls in your head until you find a file folder to put it in.
Is this like what I dealt with as a kid?
As a teenager,
As a young adult,
Which folder gets this new information?
And then it's asking you to pull out old folders and refile and recalibrate what happened.
One novel experience can cause the whole filing system to come crashing down.
One bit of new way of being.
Can cause a whole new way.
That we need to.
Perceive ourselves in this world.
And what if we could just clean out the file folders?
And say,
That's all old stuff.
That is not the now moment.
What if we could get a clean slate?
We're just going to try that for a moment,
Opening a file folder.
All the stuff.
From three jobs ago.
That don't matter anymore.
And you just pick up the whole file folder.
Take it out the top of your head.
Release it up in the air and let the wind take it away.
Some of those papers go up to the sun and they burn up and transform.
Some of those papers fall to the ground and they are composted by the earth.
Just noticing that your mind is a little bit clearer.
Because you don't have to hold on to what happened three jobs ago.
We're just going to set the intention that.
Any of these file folders that are ready to be released.
Ready to let go,
Ready to loosen up.
Can continue.
To let go throughout this meditation.
They can do it on their own.
Without us thinking about it.
Bringing your inhaling breath back to this body.
Noticing your physical form and how you feel in this moment.
Noticing the vibration of the earth beneath you.
Feels like it's pushing you back up.
It's.
Holding you up.
As gravity pulls you downward,
The earth is supporting you.
Noticing that you don't have to try.
Because the earth is doing the work for you.
You don't have to fight against gravity.
The earth is providing that equal and opposite force.
It's almost as though you are floating here on the earth.
Welcoming your exhaling breath to go downward into the earth.
To travel a foot down and three feet down and nine feet down into the earth.
Feeling the vibration of the earth beneath you.
Feeling how solid the earth is.
It's solid and almost feels hard and impenetrable and it's always there.
Supporting you.
But yet.
There's a softness to the earth.
That welcomes you to reach down and connect on deeper levels.
There's a softness that.
Allows you to grow your roots.
Empowers you to find your own stability.
It's this reminder that.
Everything that's solid in our life.
Can also be soft.
That solid doesn't have to be hard.
It doesn't have to be an obstruction.
Solid.
You can also.
.
.
Be permeable.
And soft.
And holding.
That hug that holds you and you can melt into it.
That is the feeling of the earth.
Holding you,
Protecting you.
Loving you.
And welcoming you to soften into the earth.
Can we bring our awareness back to this filing cabinet in the center of your head?
All the cabinets.
And what we find in these file folders.
Is that it's really hard,
Not soft.
That we've made these determinations of our past.
We've looked at the facts.
The unmovable facts.
And we've come up with a judgment and a way to move forward.
And the question is,
How can we soften these a little bit?
And I see you just taking the folders out,
Leaving the papers behind.
Some of the organization is being removed.
Taking out those manila folders that have the labels.
And we take those folders and send them up into the wind.
We don't have to organize at all.
We don't have to put the judgment on it all.
What if all of the things that happened in my life can just sit in this file cabinet.
Without being judged or organized.
Or defined.
They're just things that happened.
Noticing how much softer things feel.
When we just trust that it happened.
Doesn't need more definition.
Releasing that manila folder of how I'm supposed to express myself.
And what's going to happen if I express myself in different ways.
Just remove the folder.
The folder about.
How I'm supposed to love.
And how I'm supposed to be loved.
And all of the.
.
.
Supporting evidence.
From our lives.
And we just remove the folder.
Find a folder about how to use your voice.
When I speak quietly or don't say anything.
Here's what happens.
And when I get angry,
Here's the result.
And.
When I speak with authority,
Here's.
.
.
How other people will receive it.
And we're just taking the folder out and leaving.
The experiences.
Letting it float away in the wind.
And there's an entire filing cabinet about how you're supposed to be in the world and how you're supposed to do in the world.
What is it that I need to do in order to feel value?
How quickly do I need to move?
How fast do I have to act?
I am just going to be.
And not do,
What does that mean?
We're just going to go through this filing cabinet and remove all of the manila folders.
And let them go to the wind.
And fly away.
And we stand back from these filing cabinets.
Looking around.
And there's this sudden feeling of dread and overwhelm because now we can't find.
.
.
Things as easily.
It's not organized as well.
How can I find that memory?
Of what happened when I was eight.
When the teacher looked at me funny.
How can I find that information about what happened three jobs ago?
Taking a deep,
Deep breath.
And realizing that the past has just blurred a little bit.
Now that you can't find all of these.
Pieces of evidence as easily.
Past has less weight on what you do in this moment.
If you blur the lines.
Can't find the past as easily.
You get to make your decisions.
In the now moment.
Based on what is.
In the present.
We look at those filing cabinets and say,
If it's not organized,
Do I even need to hold on to any of this?
You find that there's a little bit more space in these filing cabinets.
We've released the Minilla folders,
We've released.
.
.
Couple of other folders that aren't needed anymore.
There's a little bit more space.
Bringing your awareness up to the crown of your head and then up out the top of your head.
Out into the universe.
Connecting the crown of your head with the light.
All the way up there with the sun and the moon and the stars.
With every exhale reaching deeper into the sky.
Deeper into space.
Up here in space,
We don't see any filing cabinets.
We don't see any agendas.
Let me just see.
Trillions of stars.
Infinite stars.
Infinite pathways,
Infinite outcomes.
Inspiration.
And there's divine guidance guiding you to different stars.
Guiding you to different possibilities.
And when you find something that looks nice,
A star that catches your attention.
You reach out and you bring it in for a hug.
Find that you're placing it.
In these filing cabinets.
Excitement.
Passion,
Desire.
Different things you might want to try.
Different things you might want to do.
Just collecting some of them and bringing them into your head.
And what we find is that up here in your head,
There's nothing to do with them.
They just sit there.
We can think and think and think all we want.
Nothing happens in our heads.
We can organize,
We can.
.
.
Clean out.
But your real power.
To manifest is at your heart.
Bringing your awareness.
To your heart.
Feeling what you feel at your heart.
Your heart is in this now moment.
Completely present.
At your heart is the vibration of your own essence.
Unique to you.
Your heart is your desires.
And your passions.
And your excitement.
It's like a motor that's spinning vertically.
Almost like a water wheel.
When it reaches downward,
It's reaching at the earth for that stability and softness and nourishment and pulling it up into the heart.
And as the paddles of the water wheel.
Spin at the top.
They're gathering these ideas.
Hand.
Possibilities and divine guidance and pulling it downward into the heart.
This wheel is spinning.
At your heart,
Gathering the building blocks.
And gathering.
The inspiration and mixing.
And when we quiet the future and the to-do lists,
And we quiet the past and the file cabinets,
It allows this.
Water wheel at your heart.
To decide what it wants to do.
What you want to do.
With the building blocks.
And the inspiration.
When we release the conditioning.
When we release the shoulds.
There's all of this space.
At your heart to get creative.
What is right for me in this moment.
I find herself excited about an idea.
And ready to plow forward.
But it takes us out of this moment.
Takes us into the future,
Into planning mode.
We come back to this now moment at your heart.
What is right for me right now.
And all of those ways that we value ourselves.
I value myself if I.
.
.
If I do this,
If I show up in that way,
If I help this many people.
But it takes away from the now moment.
We're welcoming that.
Ruler,
That yardstick of self-value.
To be set to the side.
We just focus on this water wheel at your heart.
We're going to sit in silence for several minutes.
And I want you to just listen to your heart.
When thoughts come into your mind.
Let them go.
Let them flow.
But at your heart.
Listening.
Maybe you see a picture.
Or an image.
Maybe you hear a voice.
Maybe you just have a knowing or a feeling.
Trusting.
That this is.
Your soul talking to you.
In the now moment.
And sharing whatever it is.
That is right for you to hear.
Right now.
Sitting at your heart.
And focusing on.
How you feel.
In this now.
Noticing the messages that your heart has for you in this now.
When a situation comes up and you feel like you have to drop everything and act fast.
We pause.
Set it aside.
And tune into the heart.
What does it feel like in this now?
This vast horizon.
Of possibilities.
Not just the one.
That you would normally do.
But it's like being in the desert looking at the horizon.
And it goes.
From miles and miles around.
So many options.
And a situation happens that makes you feel sad.
We just recognize.
Whether it came from the past.
Or weather.
It is truly what is in this now moment.
Allowing for reflection.
And allowing for presence.
And we take this vibration at your heart,
We take your soul in the present moment.
And welcome them to move up,
Up,
Up,
Up to the brain.
And your heart is in the center of your brain looking around at all of these filing cabinets.
And your heart starts laughing.
Laughing at the ridiculousness.
Trying so hard.
Your heart feels sorry for your brain.
Trying to organize all the time.
And all you have to do is just be present.
And feel.
In the moment.
There's an invitation.
To simply.
Take all of these papers.
You would do at the end of senior year in high school.
Big,
Huge backpack of papers.
All the notes you've been taking.
How hard you have tried.
The effort.
I'm just taking all those papers.
And just throwing them up in the air like a deck of cards.
Letting them go.
They don't mean anything anymore.
Watching them flutter to the ground.
There's an invitation.
To take a filing cabinet and just.
.
.
Throw it up in the air.
We say thank you for.
All of the work you've done to keep me safe.
To remember.
To honor my past.
I would like a little freedom from that.
To live in this now moment.
Some of you may.
Dump all of the filing cabinets at once.
Cleanse your brain.
And others might take one folder.
From 25 years ago.
And dump that one.
It's whatever you're comfortable with.
But your heart finds that it's really funny up here in the head.
Of how hard everybody works.
And welcomes the brain.
To blur and cleanse.
Your brain,
Your heart.
Back to that throne.
At the center of your chest.
Where it rules.
This body.
This experience.
How you create and manifest.
Just seeing your heart,
Your soul sitting on this throne.
Looking majestic.
Completely peaceful.
At ease.
Smiling.
Looking over its kingdom.
Of this body,
Of this experience,
Of this life.
Completely present.
With what is.
On the water wheel.
Brings up.
Building blocks and the inspiration.
Mixing it all.
And there's laughter.
And fun and excitement.
About what you get to create in this now moment.
We set our intention to move forward in our lives.
From this space.
And I bow to the Tao.
Bow to the Tao and all things,
To all the teachers before me.
Into each of you.
For inspiring this practice.
Thank you for being here.
