Hello and welcome to one of the weirdest practices that you might encounter here on Inside Timer.
My name is Lillian and I'm a somatic therapist and fascial stretch therapist.
And I love getting people into their bodies.
This practice in particular is one that my husband probably witnesses the most out of anybody in life.
Which is when I'm stimulated,
I need to get.
Just something out.
Okay.
There is something really interesting that happens when somebody is overstimulated.
They either go into their head and they spiral or they freeze or they want to fight or they want to just do something to get energy out.
So a really easy way that I get energy out is through using sound and using my voice.
So This is going to get weird,
OK?
And the whole point is that the weirder it gets,
The better you're going to feel.
Okay,
So let's try.
See,
It's already happening.
It's already happening.
So first.
.
.
Let's just notice,
You know,
You may do this from a regulated point.
Great.
Practice it here.
And then when something's really pissing you off,
Use it.
Okay.
So.
It's going to be very simple.
We're going to breathe and then we're going to exhale with some sound.
Okay.
Usually mine sounds a little something like this.
And you can see here that it's almost like deflating me okay there's a lot of energy in my head right now and I can feel it so I just need to Take a deep breath in.
This we have a lot of charge.
Okay,
That means a lot of things happening in the body We're just gonna add a little bit of movement into this practice Grrrrrrrrrrrrr!
And as you do this,
You may experience different sensations and starting to notice just like energy starting to simmer down.
There's a little bit of sadness in this space.
It's okay.
Just allow it to be and maybe express from that place.
Okay.
So if the energy moves,
If something begins to change,
Maybe just give that a little bit of a voice.
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa And after you've done this enough times.
That you begin to feel just a little bit more relaxed,
A little bit more regulated.
Just give yourself a little bit of love.
I like to do this by placing my hands on my body.
So we've just discharged energy.
We've just moved a lot of energy.
This can get really big.
We can do this with a lot of sound and a lot of movement.
And at the end,
Just make sure we just kind of like hold the container,
This beautiful vessel that is your body that holds a lot of energy.
Make sure we give it a little bit of love.
And a little bit of support.
Say thank you,
Body,
For being weird with me.
I love you.
And thank you for being weird with me.
I would love to hear in the comments if anything comes up for you,
If there were different sounds that you didn't know you had.
My name is Lillian and I will see you next time.
