This meditation is for the person who has a hard time pausing.
Maybe you feel a little guilt when it comes to rest,
Or you hear that inner voice saying I should be doing more.
I want you to know that you don't have to earn your rest.
You deserve it simply because you're human.
So let's begin by taking a nice slow breath.
On the exhale,
I want you to imagine like if you're blowing out of a straw.
Take a nice deep breath in.
Nice and slow exhale out.
Now I want you to continue breathing,
Making your exhale longer than your inhale.
And as we breathe,
We're going to just notice,
Notice your jaw.
And on the exhale,
Gently unclench.
Notice your chest.
And on the exhale,
Just letting it open.
Notice your belly.
And as you exhale,
Allow it to soften.
And notice your legs.
And as you exhale,
Just let them grow nice and heavy.
Your body has been working for you all day.
Let it have this moment of rest.
And if your mind wanders,
Come back to the truth that rest is not weakness.
Rest is repair.
Continuing to breathe and softening with every exhale.
Just be here in the pause.
Allow yourself to arrive in this moment.
In this moment,
There's nothing to finish.
There's nothing to fix.
It's just you and your breath.
It's just you being,
Simply being.
We're going to take a few more breaths,
Nice and slow together.
Inhale and receive this pause.
Exhale and release what you've been holding.
Inhale and soften.
Exhale and let go of any lingering guilt.
Inhale,
Remember you are enough.
Exhale,
Remember that you deserve to rest.
Stay here for a few more breaths,
Reminding your body to trust this moment of stillness.
I'm going to be silent for the next few moments to allow you to integrate this feeling into your body.
And if your mind wanders,
Come back to remembering that you deserve to rest.
Let's take a nice last deep breath together.
Inhaling and remember you deserve to rest simply because you're human.
Thank you so much for pausing with me today.
My name is Lillian and I wish you a beautiful and restful day with many,
Many pauses.
