Welcome,

I'm so glad you're here with me.

My name is Lillian and today we are exploring the themes of authentic expression and belonging.

What this means is our ability to be ourselves and to be accepted by those who we love,

By our community.

You see,

I think these things are so essential to our emotional well-being.

We often hear people talk about being the lone wolf or the black sheep of their family,

Of their communities,

And if that unique expression that they have,

That beautiful gift that makes them unique,

Is not expressed or accepted,

It could really make us feel like we don't belong to be here.

But the truth is,

You are.

Sometimes we just have to find the right pack and the right space for us to really,

Really,

Really feel safe to be seen and feel comfortable to feel expressed.

So today we are going to go on a little exploration to observe these different spaces and places in ourselves and in our lives.

And we're not meant to change anything here.

This isn't the moment to do anything.

It is simply an invitation to observe and to notice where you may want to express and be a little bit more you,

And to reflect on the people and the places where you feel accepted and where you feel like you can truly be who you are meant to be.

So let's begin by bringing our attention to here and now.

You can begin by taking in the space around you.

Maybe there are some sounds,

A change in temperature.

Just become aware.

And as you begin to center a little bit more,

Noticing the surface that you are on,

Whether you're sitting or laying down,

And taking one nice,

Deep breath,

Allowing your body to sink deeper and deeper with every exhale,

And we're going to begin this journey with just ourselves,

I'm going to invite you to pay attention to the sensations and any shift in energy in your body,

Noticing your body begin to relax.

And I ask you,

How do you feel in your body right now?

Be aware of the thoughts that come into your mind,

Of the sensations in the body.

Do you feel that you're able to express who you are?

Do you know the things that you need?

Now from this place,

I want you to think of the people that are closest to you.

This could be your family,

Your partner,

Your close friends,

And just imagine them either in the space with you or try to feel what it feels like to be in their energy.

I want to ask you,

Are you able to be honest about who you are with these people?

Do you think that they're able to see you and feel you when you have a need or a desire?

Can you share it with them?

Or if you want to say no to something or something just doesn't feel right,

Are you able to express without feeling like you're going to get pushed away?

And now I want you to think of maybe the group of people that's outside of this close circle.

It could be in the place that maybe you work or immediate family that you don't spend that much time with or those close friends that you don't necessarily talk to every day.

Stepping out to this group of people,

Just allow their faces to come in,

Allow their energy to be in this space.

And I ask,

Are you able to show these people who you are?

Do they get to see you and feel you?

Do you get to feel yourself and see yourself in this space?

Are you able to express your needs?

Are you able to express your no's?

And when you step out of this space and you see yourself in your community,

Maybe in your city or your country,

Do you feel like you belong?

Do you feel connected to the space and this place where you are?

And in this place,

Do you get to feel yourself and see yourself?

And if you don't know the answers to these things yet,

That's okay.

Take your time.

And before you try to fit into a space,

Into a box,

Into a place,

I invite you to first ask yourself these things without the influence of anyone else.

I invite you to ask yourself if you can feel your body,

If you can feel your desires,

Your needs,

If you can imagine your dreams and how you want to show up in the world.

Because that's what the world needs.

It doesn't need any more duplicates of who's out there.

It needs you to be you with all of your unique gifts,

With all of the flaws and the bumps and the stories and the joys that live inside of you.

Taking a moment to come back into the space and into your body.

I want to thank you for journeying with me today.

Until next time.
