Welcome to Inner Sanctuary, a meditation community dedicated to nurturing inner peace and liberation. With over 20 years of Zen practice, I am honored to be able to guide this community in practicing SONOMAMA, sitting rooted in Zen teachings. SONOMAMA, which means "as-it-is" in Japanese, encapsulates the ultimate message of Zen: to be present in the current moment. In this practice, we embrace the present state, recognizing that all there is, is the way it is now.

Welcome to Inner Sanctuary,

A community dedicated to nurturing inner peace and liberation.

I'm your host,

Keiko.

With over 20 years of Zen practice,

I'm honored to guide you in the art of Sono Mama meditation.

Sono Mama,

Which means as it is in Japanese,

Encapsulates the ultimate message of Zen,

To be present in the current moment.

In this practice,

We embrace the present state,

Recognizing that all there is,

Is always the way it is now.

Let's dive into the essence of Sono Mama.

This meditation is an invitation to just sit and do nothing.

There is no counting,

No scanning,

No focusing on breathing,

Simply being.

By seeing physical activities,

We allow ourselves to be real,

Free from judgment.

This practice helps reduce self criticism,

Avoid emotional turmoil,

Foster self-acceptance,

Improve relationships,

And strengthen our capacity to be present and embrace reality as it is.

Now,

Let's talk about the nature of now.

In practicing Sono Mama,

We learn to appreciate the ever-present nature of the current moment.

It's neither the past nor the future,

But a state that always remains now.

Humans often create illusions and easily believe them to be true,

Which generates confusion and suffering.

The source of suffering lies in believing in what doesn't exist.

Sono Mama practice aims to differentiate between reality and illusion,

Freeing us from suffering,

And the present moment is elusive.

Technically speaking,

It can't be grasped or held on to.

Ultimately,

Through Sono Mama practice,

It becomes clear that all there is is always the way it is now.

Then,

You realize who you are.

This realization leads to Satori,

Or enlightenment.

By embracing the present moment without grasping or letting go,

We find peace and clarity.

In our far space,

Ever-changing and uncertain society,

Having a sanctuary within ourself is invaluable.

Inner sanctuary is a practice space where we cultivate tranquility and well-being through Sono Mama.

Let's practice together and discover the profound peace that comes from embracing the present moment without grasping,

Without letting go,

Just as it is,

Just as it is.

Join us in our sanctuary where we journey together toward inner peace and liberation through the process,

Practice of Sono Mama.

Thank you for joining us on this journey into this practice,

Sono Mama.

As we conclude,

I invite you to take a moment to simply be just as you are,

Wherever you are.

Embrace the present moment and allow yourself the peace that comes with it.

Remember the practice,

Sono Mama,

Is always available to you.

A sanctuary you can return to at any time.

May you carry the tranquility and clarity of this practice into your daily life.

Until next time,

Stay present,

Stay peaceful,

And remember,

Without grasping,

Without letting go,

Just as it is,

Just as it is.

Join us again on Inner Sanctuary where we continue to explore and cultivate inner peace and liberation.

Be well and keep practicing.
