Hello and welcome.
I'm Jennifer Ellis and this is a meditation called the illumination of change.
When you're ready to begin,
Come into a comfortable position,
Whatever position you most like to meditate in,
And then gently close your eyes.
Just take a moment to put aside your day,
The to-do lists,
The thoughts that sometimes chatter away in our mind.
That way you can be present for the visualization we're going to do about illumination of change.
We all experience change in our lives,
Sometimes very unexpected,
And sometimes planned changes.
Regardless of if it was expected or unexpected,
Change can be stressful.
It can be hard.
And this is where meditation can support us.
So just take a moment in silence to be present and simply breathe.
And now before we start to play with our visualization,
We'll do three cleansing breaths.
We'll inhale through the nose for a count of six and exhale through the mouth for a count of six.
And when you exhale through the mouth,
Just invite your body and mind to let go of whatever it feels like it needs to let go of at this time.
Inhale,
Exhale.
Inhale,
Exhale.
And once more,
Inhale and exhale.
Now I invite you to see the sun rise over a set of mountains and see mist,
A foggy mist,
Begin to swirl upward,
Illuminated by the golden radiant rays of the morning light.
In some traditions,
Mist actually symbolizes that which is unseen.
And sometimes change can be just that.
We don't see it coming.
So we're going to journey through the mist in our visualization and see where it takes us.
So once again,
You are envisioning mountains,
The sun rising,
And mist.
And it's hard to see through this mist.
And you might be traveling alone.
Maybe you're with a friend or a spouse,
Or maybe you're with your pet or pets.
You're out on this walk.
You're out on this walk.
And the path before you is hidden in the mist.
You can't see what's up ahead because this mist is so dense.
And yet,
This mist looks beautiful because it's being illuminated by this golden light of the morning sun.
So even though you can't see the path ahead,
You stop for a moment and you think,
Do I trust my heart and my intuition to go forward?
Or do I go back?
Or do I stay put and wait till it clears?
There's no right answer to this.
Just see where it takes you.
So the purpose of our visualization,
With your heart,
I invite you to trust the path ahead.
And be guided by your heart and intuition.
And don't overthink this.
Just continue on the path,
Even though it's hard to see up ahead.
So in silence,
You continue walking.
And you can still see a bit of the mountains as that sun is over there rising.
But most of it is filled with that mist,
That deep,
Dense mist swirling about.
And as you walk and journey through the path,
You're continuing to tune into your heart and your intuition.
As you just visualize the beauty of the landscape,
You just take it slow.
You trust.
And then rather than trying to see so far up ahead,
You just feel yourself safe on this journey.
So I invite you to,
For a moment of silence,
Just see yourself walking this path of the mist and trusting your heart and intuition to take you to the beauty,
To where you need to be.
And as you visualize this,
Just continue to breathe and try to stay within the visualization rather than any additional mind chatter.
Continue to travel.
Just notice if any messages come your way.
Notice any feelings that might pop up.
And noticing these things without judgment,
Without making them right or wrong.
And now as you continue your walk,
The mist starts to clear.
And you can see that path ahead.
And that path is gorgeous.
But so was the mist.
Continue your journey.
You see the entire mountain now.
And it's beautiful.
You see those morning rays of sunshine ever more clearly.
You feel the warmth of the sun on your skin.
What a blessing.
And you feel joyful and proud of yourself for getting through the hard part,
Which was walking through the mist and now being able to see your path ahead.
Your path was illuminated using your heart and your intuition and your trust.
And now as you come to the end of your walk,
And that mist is cleared and you see everything so clearly,
You return to your home or to your car.
And you feel peaceful.
You feel calm.
And again,
You feel proud of yourself.
You did it.
If you have any particular changes going on in your life right now,
Know that you can use this visualization at any time to support you to reflect upon the illumination,
That you can get through it.
And then when you do,
The path will be clear.
This meditation will be here to support you through any changes.
And now taking with you that feeling that,
Ah,
You made it through that journey.
Taking with you that feeling that,
Ah,
You made it through that journey.
We'll conclude our meditation with three cleansing breaths.
Let's inhale through the nose.
Exhale through the mouth.
Inhale through the nose.
Exhale through the mouth.
And once more,
Inhale through the nose.
And exhale through the mouth.
