Reset your nervous system.
Sometimes daily life brings struggle,
It brings overwhelm,
Anxiety,
Fear,
Leading to burnout and unhappiness.
But it doesn't have to be that way.
When we're living in this state of survival,
Our normal,
Rational,
Logical thinking brain kind of switches off and we're left with our unconsciousness.
Sometimes we might feel that life doesn't feel real.
Or that we just feel out of touch with reality.
Or that we don't quite feel like ourselves anymore.
And that's because we've allowed our nervous system to become dysregulated.
We're now living from a kind of fight or flight mode,
Rather than rest and digest.
So this meditation is about coming back to that peaceful presence.
Into a nervous system that feels calm and regulated.
So begin with just closing the eyes and resting your body wherever you are.
Take a nice,
Slow,
Smooth breath in through the nose.
And release through the mouth.
Maybe take a few breaths like this.
With every exhale just allowing your body to soften even deeper.
Let go of anything that's been on your mind.
All that matters is this moment here and now.
Now if you're holding on to any tension in the body,
Can you release?
Releasing,
Relaxing the forehead muscles.
The cheeks.
The jaw.
The tail.
The shoulders.
Arms and hands.
Allow your belly to fully release and relax.
Still breathing nice,
Slow and deep breaths.
Fully release.
Just feeling into the full weight of your legs.
Relax the ankles.
The feet.
And just stay here.
But focus your attention inwards.
So this means just really feeling into your whole being.
Your body,
Your energy field.
And your presence.
Just observing yourself.
Allowing any feelings to be felt.
Sometimes all we need is self-recognition.
We just need to bring awareness to what's really going on inside.
So can you do that for yourself right now?
And if it feels good for you,
You could offer yourself a warm hug.
A touch to the shoulders.
Or even a hold of your face.
These gentle touches bring comfort and a feeling of safety.
Be your own best friend.
And as you sit here with yourself,
I invite you to come into a gentle breathing practice with me.
Simply to exhale longer than the inhales.
And in doing this,
We tell the body that we are safe and that all is well.
So just starting by taking a nice breath in.
And release.
And together we'll start.
So inhale for 1,
2,
3,
4.
Hold the breath at the top for 1,
2,
3,
4.
Exhale for 1,
2,
3,
4,
5,
6,
7,
8.
Inhale for 1,
2,
3,
4.
Hold the breath 1,
2,
3,
4.
Inhale,
Exhale 1,
2,
3,
4,
5,
6,
7,
8.
And you can continue with this breathing practice for as long as you need.
And in this moment you can ask yourself,
What do you need right now?
Maybe you don't need anything.
Maybe something comes up.
An opportunity for you to have a moment of self-nurture.
Of inner connection.
Of self-acceptance.
Stay with yourself for as long as you need.
And may you remember that only you will help you find yourself.
Only you will allow you to feel love,
Harmony,
Peace.
Nothing outside of you can do that for you.
This life is an inner journey.
It's a journey of self-discovery.
Of learning to trust ourselves.
Learning to love ourselves.
Every part of our beings.
All of the good,
All of the bad,
All of the messy.
We are human and that's what makes us human.
May you live in true alignment,
True appreciation of yourself and of your life.
Sending you so much love.
