Out of the mind,
Into the heart.
Most of us are living in our heads for the majority of the time.
We try to intellectualise and analyse everything in the mind,
Rather than feeling what is right and true for us.
This takes us further away from our true selves,
Because we don't connect to that gut feeling.
That gut feeling is actually our intuition.
It's our inner guidance system,
And it's connected to our heart and therefore our soul.
Thinking that our minds know the best way,
When really,
Our soul's guidance is waiting for us,
But we numb it out.
This leads to incorrect thinking,
Confusion and not knowing the right way forwards,
And many other things that deepen the disconnection to self.
So from this,
The question is,
Can you pause?
During the moments of overwhelm,
Confusion,
Hesitation or stagnation,
Can you stop for a moment?
And in that moment,
Take a conscious breath and let yourself cease thinking.
You can tell yourself,
I'm giving my mind a break,
No more ruminating or focusing on this thing,
And instead focus on your breath and how your body feels for a few minutes.
When you are finally disengaged from those thoughts,
You can ask yourself,
What feels true for me right now?
And just see what comes up.
Maybe you might just want to cry.
Maybe you feel frustrated,
Or maybe you are unsure.
It's all fine and it's part of the practice.
Focus here is to let yourself feel.
Once we stop allowing the mind to take over,
We let our body do what it needs to do.
And in that moment,
We let go.
That's what it means to surrender.
Surrender to what is,
That maybe you don't know the way forwards,
That you acknowledge that you are stuck.
Accept it,
Cry about it if you need to,
Get angry or have a tantrum like a child.
And then see what happens.
When we release emotions by feeling them,
We create space.
And in that space,
We can tap into new ideas and gain a new perception.
We will begin the meditation now.
I invite you to have a journal or something close by that you can write in after the meditation.
So,
Take a conscious breath and close your eyes when you are ready.
Settle in and together,
Let's set an intention.
The intention is that through this meditation,
We are able to come out of the thinking mind and drop back into our hearts.
That we start to open ourselves up and feel,
Rather than try to intellectualise everything.
And that we reconnect to the true essence of ourselves.
The true being,
Underneath the layers of false beliefs and limitations that we once placed upon ourselves.
So,
Just starting to bring your awareness to your breath.
The breath of life that is always there,
Fortifying you,
Nurturing you and keeping you alive.
Let's acknowledge the sustenance of the ever-giving breath.
Follow the breath as it slowly fills into the lungs,
Expanding into the chest.
And then fill the belly with the breath.
And release.
Let it all go.
Relax into the ground or the seat beneath you.
Let's take a few breaths like this.
And with every exhale,
Allowing your body to relax further.
And taking your awareness to your body now,
Starting with your forehead.
Can you release any tension that you may be holding onto in your forehead?
Can you soften your cheeks and relax your jaw?
Now taking your awareness to your shoulders,
Your arms and hands.
Just relax and release.
Feeling the full weight of your arms.
Now on your next inhale,
Breathing the breath into your belly.
Expand the breath into the belly.
And as you exhale,
Can you fully release and relax your belly?
Let go of the tension.
Let it all go.
Relax your glutes and feel the seat or the ground supporting you.
Let your legs release and relax.
Followed by the ankles,
The feet and the toes.
Now take a moment to feel into your body.
Feel into the wholeness of yourself.
Can you sense your heart beating?
Maybe you can feel sensations within your body.
Or the cool air on your skin.
Stay here and breathe.
And now taking your awareness to your third eye.
The space just slightly above your eyebrow centre.
Rest in this space.
The space of no thought.
Not needing to be or do anything.
Just allow yourself to be here.
With yourself.
And bask in this beautiful peace and presence.
And from this space,
You can connect to the deepest part of you.
Your soul.
Ask yourself the question.
What feels true for me right now?
Stay open.
Allow the feelings to be shown to you.
Do not fear them.
Accept them with compassion,
With love and no judgement.
Let yourself feel.
Stay here for as long as you need.
And when you feel ready,
You can bring your awareness back to your breath.
And back to your whole being.
Maybe start to get some gentle movement in.
Roll the shoulders.
Stretch the arms.
Roll the ankles.
Whatever feels good.
Or just remain still.
Feel.
Sense the space around you.
Hear the different sounds around you.
And gently open your eyes when you feel ready.
Now is a good time to write about any feelings that came up for you.
No need to think,
Just write.
Your heart will guide you.
And from this,
My prayer is for you to receive new insights and understandings of yourself.
To enable you to grow.
To overcome past wounds.
To heal and to expand into more freedom and deep self-connection.
I send to you energies of love on all levels and at all points in time.
