Welcome to this daily practice.
And five minutes to begin your day.
However you're sitting or lying right now.
Let that be enough.
And close your eyes.
Or let your gaze soften.
Take a deep breath in and let it out slowly.
And let your exhale be longer than your inhale.
This is not a meditation for planning your day.
This is a meditation for arriving in it.
Before the day starts asking things of you.
So notice your body here.
In this moment.
Before the noise begins.
Notice the solidity of your body.
Notice the temperature of the air.
Each organ,
Each cell.
Doing its job.
The simple fact of being awake.
Take a few breaths.
Let each one be an act of arrival.
Nothing more.
And ask yourself quietly,
How do I want to meet today?
This isn't the list,
It's not what you need to get done today.
Is how in yourself you want to meet your day.
As it comes towards you.
Let a word or feeling arrive.
Perhaps you want to be steady.
Or open.
Or kind or patient.
Whatever's true for you this morning.
You don't need to hold onto it tightly.
Or set it as a reminder,
Or set it as a reminder.
Target that you need to reach.
This is just something you want to embody.
Just setting the tone for yourself before the day sets one for you.
So just Choose that feeling.
That you'd like to approach the day with.
And take one more breath.
And let this small practice.
Be complete.
Exactly as it is.
And when you're ready.
Open your eyes.
And carry this quiet beginning into whatever comes next.
Thank you so much for sharing this space with me today.
Have a wonderful day.
