If things feel like a lot right now,
You're in the right place.
So this practice isn't about changing that or getting somewhere else.
It's just a few minutes to be here in a way that feels a little bit more manageable.
You can sit,
You can lie down,
Or you can shift as needed.
Know that there's no right way to do this.
You can follow along or just listen.
And that's enough.
And maybe to begin,
Just notice that you've taken a pause.
Maybe taking a nice breath in,
A nice breath out,
Without having to change anything.
And you might start by sensing your body,
Not all at once,
But maybe just wherever your attention naturally lands.
It could be something simple,
Like your feet on the ground,
Maybe the weight of your body being held,
Or the movement of your breath,
Or even just a sense of contact with whatever is supporting you.
And if it feels like too much to go inside,
You can stay with what's around you,
The room.
And let your attention rest there.
And as you start to settle,
You might begin to notice how things feel right now,
Not needing to sort it out or make sense of it,
Just a general sense of what's here.
There might be a kind of pressure,
Or maybe busyness,
Or something tight,
Maybe heavy,
Or maybe something that's hard to name.
All of that can be here.
And alongside that,
Though,
You might gently look for even a small place that feels just a little bit more steady,
Not perfect,
Just slightly more okay.
It could be very subtle.
Maybe it's in the hands,
Or in the breath,
Somewhere else in the body,
Or it could even be in the space around you.
And if nothing like that stands out,
That's okay.
You might just stay with the support beneath you,
Letting that be enough.
Always welcome to use your breath to help support you,
Breathing in,
Breathing out.
And you can move your attention back and forth between what feels like a lot and whatever feels even slightly steadier.
No need to force that.
Just noticing what happens if you include both.
And know that at any point,
You can step back.
You can open your eyes,
Or you can shift your body.
Or you can simply listen,
Knowing that there's room here for your own pace.
And that's it.
As we begin to close,
Just noticing again where you are,
Noticing the space around you,
Noticing your breath,
Noticing your body,
Just a body having an experience,
Just noticing this moment.
There's nothing you need to take with you,
And there's nothing you need to hold on to.
Just this small pause.
Again,
Breathing in,
And breathing out.
Maybe a little question to carry with you.
What helps,
Even a little,
When things feel like a lot?
And where do you notice even a small sense of support?
May we be well.
May we feel safe.
And may we be free.
