Good morning,
My name is Fran Chandler and welcome to this morning intention meditation.
I'm going to invite you to begin our practice seated or maybe you're still in bed so lying down in a comfortable position and then close your eyes gently,
Allow your hands to rest softly in your lap or even by your side.
Let's begin by taking a deep breath in through the nose and then slowly exhale through the mouth.
Again a long deep breath in and then gently let it go.
One more time,
Breathing in fresh energy and exhaling any tension,
Any worry,
Anything you do not need to carry into this day.
Now just allow your breath to return to a natural easy rhythm.
With each inhale feel your body waking up,
Filling with life and with each exhale feel your body relaxing,
Releasing what no longer serves you.
Bring your awareness to this moment,
The stillness,
The quiet,
The potential.
You've been given a new day,
This is a new opportunity,
It's a blank canvas.
Gently bring to mind a word or feeling that you wish to carry into your day today.
It might be peace,
Focus,
Confidence,
Joy or gratitude.
Whatever comes to you,
Allow it to fill your heart and mind.
Keeping that word close in mind,
Silently repeat to yourself,
Today I choose.
Again,
Today I choose.
Let your intention settle in.
Now imagine yourself moving through your day with the same feeling.
See yourself walking with purpose,
Speaking with kindness,
Handling challenges with grace.
Picture small moments of peace,
Of connection,
Of strength.
No matter what this day may bring,
You could return to this feeling,
This intention at any time.
It is your inner anchor.
Let's take a moment to seal this practice with gratitude.
Place one hand gently over your heart,
Feel your breath,
Your life,
Your presence.
Silently say to yourself,
I am grateful for this new day,
For this new beginning.
I carry light and intention with me.
Now begin to deepen your breath.
Gently begin to wiggle your fingers and your toes.
And when you're ready,
Softly open your eyes.
You are now ready for this brand new day.
