Welcome to this grounding mediation. Whether you're at an airport, on a train, bus or in the middle of a busy journey, I invite you to take a moment to reconnect with yourself. We will use the breath as our anchor and we will create a sense of steadiness and grounding within.

Hi,

Welcome to Mindful Minutes.

Today our meditation will be a grounding meditation for travelers.

Whether you're in an airport,

On a bus,

Train,

Or in the middle of a busy journey,

I invite you to take a moment to settle in and reconnect with yourself.

Find a comfortable position,

It could be either seated or standing,

With your feet flat on the ground.

If you can,

Close your eyes.

If not,

Just soften your gaze and focus on a point in front of you.

Take a deep breath in,

And gently let it out,

Very slowly.

Now bring your awareness to your body.

Begin by noticing where the body meets the seat or the ground beneath you.

Feel the weight of your body being supported.

Take a moment to sense your feet on this ground.

Imagine your feet are like tree roots,

Deeply planted into the earth,

Feeling stable and secure.

As you breathe,

Feel these roots growing stronger with each inhale.

With each exhale,

Let go of any tension you might be holding.

Release any stress,

Anxiety,

Or discomfort into the ground beneath you.

Now focus on your breath.

Notice the gentle rise and fall of your chest and belly with each inhale and exhale.

Take a slow deep breath in,

Filling your lungs completely,

And then exhale with a long,

Smooth breath out,

Releasing any tension you're holding.

Let each breath guide you back to the present moment.

If your mind starts to wander,

Simply bring it back to the rhythm of your breath.

Inhale and exhale,

Letting go of the past and future,

Just being here in this moment.

Imagine that with each breath,

You are drawing in a sense of calm and stability.

As you breathe in,

Picture yourself drawing in energy from the earth below,

Grounding you,

Filling you with a sense of balance and peace.

With each exhale,

Imagine releasing any restlessness or nervous energy from your body.

Let it flow through your feet and into the ground,

Like a wave receding from the shore.

See yourself as steady,

Like a mountain,

Unshaken by the movement and chaos around you.

The world is moving,

But you are rooted and calm.

You are centered in this moment,

No matter what's happening around you.

Now gently affirm to yourself,

I am grounded and present.

I am safe and secure in this moment.

I trust the journey I am on,

And I am at peace.

Feel their truth settling within you,

Creating a sense of calm in your mind and body.

As you finish this brief moment of grounding,

Gently bring your awareness back to your surroundings Gently move your fingers,

Your toes,

Take a stretch of the body if it feels good.

Feeling calm,

Centered,

And ready to continue your journey.

Open your eyes and continue your day with a sense of peace and grounding.

Remember,

Wherever you go,

You can always return to this stillness within you.
