Begin by finding a comfortable seated position.
One partner sits with legs extended or crossed and the other is lying down and gently rests their head in their lap.
Close your eyes and take slow,
Deep breaths.
Now let go of any expectation you have for this meditation.
The only purpose of these minutes is to create a space of togetherness and being present.
Not being on the phone,
Not sorting out what to do next,
Not doing anything but being together in the same space and being present.
Now become aware of your partner as a complete person,
Not just the person he or she is today.
Let go of the feelings you have for your partner today.
See your partner in their completeness.
Now take a moment to appreciate your partner.
Your partner is here with you,
Making time,
Showing effort for you and your relationship.
Finally,
Let go of heaviness.
Breathe in lightness.
Experience your partner in their lightness.
Do not take yourself,
Your partner or this meditation too serious.
Let go of any heavy thoughts or feelings.
Slowly start moving your fingers and toes.
Maybe you want to slightly tickle your partner.
Then slowly open your eyes and carry the feeling of love and lightness into the rest of your evening.
