Let's prepare to meditate.
Adjust your body so that you are sitting comfortably.
Close your eyes.
Rest your hands on your lap in any way that is comfortable for you.
Take a nice filling breath in.
Breathe deeply in through your nose and breathe out slowly through your mouth.
Do this again.
Now when you exhale,
Breathe out with a long sigh.
Do this breathing again a few more times to settle your mind and body.
You are ready to begin.
You are standing outside on a beautiful starry night.
You are looking up at the night sky enjoying the beauty of the stars.
You catch the sight of a shooting star and you make a wish.
What do you wish for?
Say your wish in your mind.
Suddenly,
There is a bright light of white and gold that lights up in front of you.
You shield your eyes for a moment and the bright light turns into a warm golden glow.
When you open your eyes fully,
There,
Hovering in front of you,
Is an orb of light.
The shooting star that you wished upon is now directly in front of you.
Hello child,
The light says.
I heard your wish and would like to hear more.
Tell me three wishes you wish to come true for yourself.
Think for a moment and then,
In your mind,
Share your three wishes with the shooting star.
The shooting star speaks again.
Think of your loved ones.
What three wishes would you ask for them?
In your mind,
Make three wishes you would like to grant for your loved ones.
Think of another person you know or love.
Make three wishes for them too,
Says the star.
And so you do.
What three wishes would you have for this other person?
The star twinkles a little bit in front of you and speaks again.
Now,
What three wishes do you have for the world?
Think about three wishes you would like to grant our planet and its people.
You are a good and kind-hearted soul,
My child.
Thank you for being you.
I will return to the skies and see what I can do about those wishes.
With a warm glow like a hug and a little twinkle,
The star shot back up into the night sky.
As our meditation comes to a close,
Draw your attention back to your real body.
Notice and feel where your body is touching the floor or chair.
Wiggle your fingers.
Wiggle your toes.
Take a deep breath.
Now go ahead and stretch out your body in any way that feels good to you.
When you are ready,
Open your eyes.
Now go out and find the magic in your day.
