Let's prepare to meditate.
Adjust your body so that you are comfortable.
Close your eyes.
Rest your hands in any way that is comfortable for you.
Take a nice filling breath in.
Breathe deeply in through your nose and breathe out slowly through your mouth.
Do this again.
Now when you exhale,
Breathe out with a long sigh.
Continue this breathing a few more times to settle your mind and body.
You are ready to begin.
You find yourself standing in front of a very large egg.
It is glowing with warm light that you can feel on your skin.
Try to actually feel a warm glow on your skin.
Try to imagine a tingling on your face.
Within this egg is a dragon,
Your dragon.
Every person's dragon is completely unique.
The dragon that you imagine is the dragon that will hatch.
Imagine what your very own dragon would look like.
What color would you want your dragon to be?
Is it more than one color perhaps?
Is it lean and fast or is it strong and muscular?
Is it male or female?
Which parts of the dragon are spiky and sharp?
What does its tail look like?
What kind of wings does your dragon have?
How big are its wings?
What kind of habitat would it live in?
Where would this dragon live?
Think of the perfect name for your dragon.
Whatever comes to mind first,
That's the one.
Once you have the perfect name,
Whisper it to the egg in your mind.
As if the name were a magic spell,
The egg bursts into a swirl of sparkles and fog.
When the fog begins to clear,
You notice your dragon standing in front of you as a full grown adult dragon.
Your dragon shuffles around confidently,
So proud of the way it looks.
Now it's time to choose your dragon's magic power.
Some dragons have fiery breath,
But perhaps yours is different.
Choose its power and watch as it roars and releases its power into the air above you.
Your dragon has kind eyes.
It lowers its head and neck to invite you to jump on its back to go flying together.
The dragon leaps into the air with a roar and off you fly together for the first time.
Take a moment now to imagine yourself flying in the skies atop your very own dragon.
As our meditation comes to a close,
Draw your attention back to your real body.
Notice and feel where your body is touching the floor or chair.
Wiggle your fingers and wiggle your toes.
Take a deep breath.
Now go ahead and stretch out your body in any way that feels good to you.
When you're ready,
Open your eyes.
Now go out and find all that's good in your day.
