Welcome to this guided meditation for sleep.
My name is Laura,
And this meditation is brought to you by Divine Emergence.
I invite you to find a comfortable position in your bed,
Lying on your back with your arms resting gently by your sides,
Closing the eyes softly.
Go ahead and take a nice deep breath in through your nose,
And slowly exhale through your mouth,
Letting go of the tension of the day.
Take another deep breath in through the nose,
And as you exhale,
Release any remaining stress or worries.
Now,
Bring your awareness to the sensation of your body sinking into the mattress.
Feel the weight of your body being fully supported by the bed beneath you.
Allow yourself to relax completely into this support,
Knowing that you are safe and secure.
Notice the rhythm of your breath.
Feel the gentle rise and fall of your chest with each inhale and each exhale.
There's no need to change your breathing pattern.
Just simply observe.
Observe the way in which you inhale and exhale.
Now,
As you continue to breathe,
I invite you to breathe slower and deeper.
Imagine a soft,
Warm light beginning to glow at the top of your head.
Visualize this comforting light spreading slowly down through your body,
Easing any tension it touches.
Feel it soothing your forehead,
Your eyes,
Your jaw,
And your neck,
Releasing all tightness and allowing full relaxation.
Now,
Begin to notice your shoulders.
Notice if there's any residual tension being held in this area.
And on your next inhale,
Go ahead and consciously allow your shoulders to soften and sink deeper into the bed beneath you.
Feel the lightness and relief as this tension melts away.
Now,
Let the warm light continue to flow down through your arms all the way to your fingertips,
Relaxing each muscle it encounters.
Sense your arms becoming heavy and warm with relaxation.
Now,
Bring your awareness to your chest and your heart center.
Feel a sense of calm and peace washing over you.
With each breath,
You feel more and more at ease.
With each breath,
You feel more and more relaxed.
Allow the comforting light to move down through your abdomen and into your legs.
Notice your hips and your thighs and your calves relax completely,
Letting go of any remaining tension that is in your body.
Your whole being is now relaxed and at ease.
Taking a moment to check in with your body,
Notice how it feels.
Enjoy this deep sense of relaxation as you prepare for a restful night's sleep.
Just know that you are exactly where you need to be right now in this moment of peace,
Of tranquility,
Of contentment,
Of infinite love.
I invite you to allow yourself to drift off into a deep and rejuvenating sleep.
Just continue to breathe and allow yourself to drift.
