Welcome to this meditation.

Just take some time to settle into your space.

Start to relax your face and jaw.

Now join me in taking a large inhale through the nose,

Hold it and squeeze every muscle in your body,

Tense the fists,

The arms,

The legs,

The torso and then with an open mouth and a cathartic sigh just let it all go.

I invite you now to close your eyes or have a soft gaze.

Now start to imagine yourself standing in a small countryside railway platform as dusk folds gently over the land.

The sky is painted in soft gold and violet.

The air touched with the faint scent of smoke and iron.

Before you,

A magnificent steam train waits,

Brass fittings gleaming,

Gentle plumes of steam rising and drifting like breath.

The sound is soothing,

Alive as though the train itself is welcoming you aboard.

From the mist steps a man,

The conductor.

His uniform is neat but worn,

His expression calm and kind,

Eyes shining with a quiet understanding.

Good evening,

He says warmly,

You're right on time for the dawn line,

Tonight we travel through the night and arrive with the sunrise.

He glances at the luggage beside you,

Scuffed cases and bags that have clearly travelled far.

You can leave those here on the platform,

He says gently,

The porter will load them for you.

He gives you a reassuring nod,

You won't need to carry a thing on this journey.

He gestures towards the open door of the train,

All you need to bring is yourself and a willingness to see what waits along the way.

You nod and step forward,

Grateful to be free of what you are holding.

The porter quietly lifts each piece of luggage,

Loading it into the rear carriage.

You hear the faint clink of metal clasps,

The sigh of steam curling into the evening air.

Inside the carriage feels timeless,

Soft lamplight glows on the polished wood,

And the scent of varnish mingles with the warm coal smoke.

The conductor closes the door gently behind you.

Find your seat,

He says softly,

We'll begin when you're ready.

He signals to the driver,

The engine exhales a deep breath of steam and the wheels begin to turn.

The platform slides away as twilight deepens into indigo.

Now,

The conductor says quietly,

As he walks down the aisle,

Our journey begins.

You settle into your seat,

Feeling the gentle sway of the carriage.

Outside fields roll by in silver shadow,

Trees drift past like soft memories.

The rhythmic sound of the pistons becomes the steady heartbeat of the train,

Easing your mind into stillness.

The conductor pauses beside you.

Behind us,

He says softly,

The porter has stored your luggage in the baggage train.

It's safe and secure.

You don't need to hold or lift a thing tonight,

Just rest.

Let the rhythm of the train carry you inward.

He smiles,

Tips his hat,

And moves quietly on.

You gaze out of the window,

Watching the land drift by,

Hedgerows,

Distant hills,

The silver thread of a river winding through the moonlight.

Calm begins to spread through you,

The feeling of being gently guided somewhere you've always meant to go.

The train rolls smoothly through the night,

The landscape dark and luminous all at once.

You begin to sense the presence of the baggage carriage behind you,

Quiet,

Patient,

Filled with all that has travelled with you through life.

There's no need to open it,

Or need to dig or search.

Simply allow the movement of the train to represent release,

Each turn of the wheels helping you let go a little more.

You may notice memories surfacing,

People,

Places,

Emotions,

But here in this moving stillness they feel softer,

Easier to hold.

You recognise that every weight once had a reason,

Every burden once protected something tender.

The conductor passes by again,

Glancing out to the moonlight fields.

You're doing well,

He says quietly,

Every mile we travel helps the weight behind you settle a little bit more.

Trust the process,

You're in good hands.

You exhale slowly,

Surrendering to the rhythm of the journey,

The sound of the wheels becoming hypnotic,

A mantra of release,

A promise of peace.

After a while,

The conductor returns,

Eyes warm with approval.

You've travelled far tonight,

He says,

Come with me,

There's somewhere more comfortable waiting.

He leads you through a polished wooden door at the end of the carriage.

The hinges creak softly,

A glow of golden light spills through the opening.

You step into the first class cabin.

The change is immediate,

Space,

Light and warmth surround you,

Soft velvet seats,

Shining brass,

Wide windows revealing a sky full of stars.

You feel an almost tangible sense of arrival within yourself.

You belong here,

The conductor says kindly.

This is the part of the journey where you rest,

Not because you escaped your past,

But because you've made peace with it.

He pours a small cup of tea,

Fragrant and calm,

And sets it down beside you.

When you travel light,

He says,

You begin to see clearly again.

The horizon opens and you remember your worth.

He tips his cap and quietly leaves you to the view.

Outside the stars drift past like slow sparks of silver light,

Streaming along the carriage windows in soft ribbons that curl up into the night.

The rhythm of the train slows,

A long tunnel lines ahead,

Dark,

Silent,

But inviting.

The carriage dims,

The sound softens,

You close your eyes and breathe deeply,

Feeling held by the darkness,

Safe,

Weightless and still.

The conductor's voice echoes gently through the quiet.

This is where transformation happens,

He says softly,

Where what you've released becomes something new,

Wisdom,

Clarity,

Peace.

You surrender to the stillness.

For a few moments there's nothing but the pulse of the engine,

The heartbeat of change.

Then a faint glow ahead,

The tunnel opens and the world outside bursts into colour.

Dawn,

Light spills across open fields,

The sky blushes with pink and gold,

Steam glows like liquid sunlight,

And birdsong rises from the hedgerows.

The train slows to a gentle halt,

The conductor appears once more,

Holding a small satchel,

Strong,

Light and simple,

Beautifully worn.

You're essentials,

He says softly,

Love,

Gratitude,

Wisdom,

The rest has already gone where it needs to be.

He hands it to you with a kind smile.

You can return to this train whenever you wish,

He adds,

It will always be waiting,

The porter ready,

The carriage warm,

The journey kind.

The doors open to the carriage,

You step down onto the platform bathed in golden morning light.

The baggage carriage glows faintly as it disappears down the line,

Carrying everything you no longer need into the sunrise.

You stand there,

The sun warming your face,

Your heart open and light.

You've arrived home,

You whisper to yourself.

Just let yourself remain here a little longer,

Feeling the stillness of arrival and the peace of release.

Know that you can always return to this gentle journey,

Whenever life feels heavy again,

Because the dawn line is more than a train journey,

It's a path home to the light within you.

Namaste
